Ignorant

Sebastian and I entered the Undercroft. We had just returned with a piece of the triptych. I placed it in its slot. It appeared to be part of a map.
"I know that coast. Ranrok has taken over a mine in the surrounding area. The hamlet near it has suffered for it. It's as bad as Feldcroft has become. Should we head there tonight after the party?"
I shook my head, "we should wait."
"Why?" He asked.
"All this time we've been a step behind Ranrok. I may know someone who can help us get ahead."
"Who is that?"
"Someone who knows Ranrok personally. They asked me not to mention their name to anyone," I said.
"What? Aura I'm your boyfriend," he paused for a second, "wait.... It's a goblin, isn't it? Tell me I'm wrong. You know goblins cursed my sister to shut her up. Said she should be seen, not heard."
"I do, but not all goblins...-"
"Not all goblins what? Have you forgotten Feldcroft? Have you forgotten the mine we just went through?" I could feel the anger in his voice.
"No Sebastian, I haven't. You're not listening to me."
"Why would I listen to someone so ignorant?" The words cut through me.
I frowned as I grew angrier. "Perhaps your uncle was right about you, you don't know when to stop."
"Oh, I do know when to stop," and with that he turned and left.
I stood there for a moment, comprehending what just happened. I wanted to cry. How could he be so cruel after I supported him all this time? Tears ran down my face. The Hallow's Eve party was in a few hours. Did I even want to go now?
'No, don't give Sebastian the satisfaction of seeing you hurt,' I thought.
I composed myself and went to get ready, I was going to be a cat for the occasion.

I entered the Great Hall, and immediately scanned the room for Sebastian. He had decided go as a mad scientist. I spotted him and Ominis by the refreshments table. As I made my way over to them, I scanned the room. Everyone was wearing a costume. There was Butterbeer, and all sorts of treats.
"Hey Aura!" It was Garreth.
I smiled. He was dressed as a pirate.
"Here, a little something to lighten the load," he handed me a cup of Butterbeer.
I smelled it. The drink was spiked.
"How do you get your hands on this stuff?" I asked.
"I'm very handy with potions," he winked.
"Thank you. Excuse me, I need to speak to Sebastian."
He nodded and we parted ways.
I downed as much of the drink as I could, and prayed Sebastian would apologise for our argument.
"Hello Ominis," I said as I approached them.
"Hi Aura," he said.
"Come to apologise Aura?" Sebastian asked.
I scoffed, "me apologise? You're the one being a racist asshole. And you called me ignorant."
"You said my uncle was right!"
"Yes, but YOU started it! I just reacted. I was angry!"
Ominis rolled his eyes, "I'm with Aura on this one."
"Thank you Ominis," a large grin grew across my face.
"What? Why?"
"Because I know how insufferable and stubborn you can be."
"Hah!" I said.
"Whatever," he walked off.
I watched his back as he disappeared into the crowd.
"Ominis, what do I do? I miss him already," I said, my anger was replaced with yearning.
"You guys have only been arguing for like 2 hours!"
"I know, but then I just think of how much I want him to hold me when I'm sad. And how much I want to kiss him," I lowered my voice a little, so no one could hear.
"Eww, please. I don't want to think about what you guys do when you're alone..... Wait, are you drinking spirits? You always get depressed when you do."
Ominis was right, I was beginning to feel it go to my head.
"Ominis this isn't helpful, what do I do?"
"I don't think there's anything you can do, he needs time."
I nodded, "okay."
Ominis listened as I vented to him. Garreth delivered more of his concoctions as time went on. For a moment I wondered how many people he was giving them too, and how he hadn't been caught yet.

Eventually, I stumbled my way over to Poppy, she was dressed as a puffskein.
"Poppppyyyy!" I shouted.
"Aura, did Garreth get to you?" She asked, laughing.
I nodded.
"Come with me," I said.
I led Poppy to a secluded part of the hall. Then spilled my guts, once again.
"I just love Sebastian so much, and now he hates me. I should be so angry with him, but I miss him more than anything. I just want him with me, right now, so I can kiss that handsome face."
"Um, Aura. I didn't even know you two were dating."
"Shhhhhhh," I put my finger on her lips.
Poppy laughed, "I won't tell anyone. But I suggest you find him. Before you start spitting your mouth to everyone about it."
I nodded, as I turned to leave.
"Oh and Aura, I'm keeping my eye on you. I don't want you getting yourself into trouble."
I gave her a salute, then went to find Sebastian.

Sebastian was speaking to Garreth about something. I approached the pair.
"What's up Aura?" Garreth greeted me.
"Sebastian come with me," I said.
"No."
I crossed my arms and stomped my feet.
Garreth laughed, "she's so cute when she's angry."
I frowned at Garreth, "listen here....!"
Sebastian rolled his eyes.
"Alright Aura, let's go," he dragged me off. Sebastian took me to the small room that was used for storage in the great hall.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Don't be mad at me. I can't do this again," I said.
"You betrayed me."
"What by speaking to a goblin? That's pretty fucked up that you're not talking to me because of that."
"You know what they did," he said.
"Sebastian! Forget about that for a second. Take the goblin completely out of the equation. This is about you and me. I have supported you through all of this, and your words hurt me. That's why I lashed out. I...."
He shook his head, and began walking away.
"I love you," I shouted at him.
Sebastian froze. I felt my heart rate rise.
"Please. Couples have different opinions. But you know I'll always support you."
He turned to me and signed, "I love you too."
A smile grew across my face. I leapt into his arms and kissed him. Sebastian held me tightly.
Wizards had a bad opinion on goblins and I could see why Sebastian hated them. But anger towards him wouldn't change his views on them. I needed to show him that they weren't all that bad, by taking a different approach.
