The New Girl

My dad decided to have is date over at our house, because it's a big house. My dad was a great cook and decided to leave good impression on her. When Julia, dad's date, arrived we all greeted her, even Zach. After I grabbed Zach's bottle I went up stairs to put him to bed. When Zach finally fell asleep I called Jean to see if she wanted to watch a movie. Jean came through the back door so we wouldn't interrupt their date. Every so often I would peek down to see what was going on. From the looks of it they seemed to be getting along very well. Jean and I watched Princess Bride and braided each other's hair. I later asked her why she had changed outfits that morning when we had gotten to school. She laughed and said, " If my dad saw me in that outfit he would never let me go to school ever again!" Jean also said, " It's weird because my mom could care less what I wear or do, that's why Matt and I always make out at school, or when my dad's not home." She also said " Though's types of shorts and shirts are in right now, if you'd like to borrow a pair I have tons." "Sure." I said. When Jean left I checked on my dad one last time. I saw my dad laying on the couch with Julia, I crept down stairs and covered them in a blanket. I liked Julia a lot. She reminded me of my mom and tears started rolling down my cheeks. I ran up stairs and called Brandon. "Hey babe what's up." Brandon said. I swallowed hard "I miss you, and my mom, and Wisconsin." I could barely choke the words out. "It's alright Bree, I'm right here there's nothing to worry about." Said Brandon. He talked to me through out the whole night until about 12pm. We kissed over the phone and said goodnight to each other. I had almost forgotten that Dad and Julia were down stairs. I went down stairs to wake them both up just in case Julia had work in the morning or has to be home at a certain time. She decided to stay the night in the guest bedroom, so I gave her a pair of my pajamas and she was off to bed. I sat down at my windowsill at looked up at the stars. I counted the stars still my head hurt, climbed into my bed and fell asleep to Zach's lullaby music.
