Being woken at the crack of dawn wasn't all that bad. Not that bad at all, if you didn't count the amount of hours of sleep you got last night. But, if you did decide to take into account the amount of hours you slept last night, being woken at the crack of dawn was absolutely horrendous (or maybe that was you being over-dramatic, since nothing really made sense through the foggy feeling cluttering your head). You were just going to entirely ignore the drowsy feeling tugging at your mind and the sensation of heavy eyebags sitting carelessly on your face and go about on your day! If you ignored it, then they couldn't affect you, and you wouldn't hear otherwise. You didn't particularly want to, anyway.

At least you had you dear little frogadier hopping along beside you. Perhaps he could share a little bit of his energy.

Not that you needed it, of course. You would deny that you spent many an hour staying up last night scrolling through mindless videos that just seemed to keep on coming. And you certainly weren't at all jealous of the ever present spring in his step as he croaked happily from puddle to puddle or the fact that he'd gone to bed at a reasonable time and wasn't weighed down by the lack of sleep.

Nu-uh. Not at all.

You sighed and rolled your shoulders, closing your eyes briefly just to feel the respite of the welcoming darkness.

The feeling wasn't very long-lived as someone behind you shouted way too loudly.

At least the view around you was pretty, if not a little overly familiar.

You'd spent your entire life in the same little town hugging the outskirts of Ryme city in a collection of ranches and farms that were just shy of the metropolis's boundaries. It meant you'd always been able to see the luminous city jutting out on the horizon, but you'd never really had a reason to go there, nor had you the funds to really do anything exciting (apart from a few concerts you'd insisted on seeing with friends, but you never stayed for more than a few days, so that barely counted) - And you were perfectly content with your homey life in your quaint, little town. You wouldn't trade it for anything, not even some hyped-up adventure alongside a legendary pokémon. If you really thought about it, the responsibility would weigh down your shoulders and the desire for a nap always showed up if you thought about it for too long.
