Aru was not a fan of swords.

Spears, fine. Maces, fine. Stick a damn lightning bolt to her neck for all she cared! But swords? Aru Shah did not do swords.

That's why she was sure she was going to hate the guy who was pushing 2 of them into her back.

Aru tried to see who was holding the weapons, before being forced to look back ahead.

"If you don't mind," she said through gritted teeth, "you're making my job a little hard. It would be nice if you made it easy."

The dude laughed. His voice was surprisingly soft. "How do you suggest I do that?"

"Well you could start by taking the 2 fricking swords off my spine."

"Scrimitors," the guy corrected. He didn't sound much older than her. Doesn't make him good she thought, you should know that better than most.

"Whatever, snob. I still have a job to do."

"And what's that?" She got a glimpse of his hair, curly and dark. I bet he's cute. She inwardly smacked herself. Stupid teenage hormones.

After a moment of planning, she stomped his foot. He flinched away, just far enough so she could punch him in the gut. He managed to dodge it though and grabbed her hair. Rude! She quickly backflipped, gripping his wrist so he couldn't pull on her scalp and watched him get dragged behind. He landed on his side, but got up immediately.

Cute AND determined.
  Aru scolded herself.
This is work, not a dating website!
Boss said you would have to take out people...
Not that kind of take out!

Aru groaned. Arguing with one's self was exhausting.

She came back to reality to find her adversary lunging at her with his swords - oh, sorry, scrimitors - surprisingly quickly. She dodged under his arm and grabbed him by the neck, trying to choke him out but he rolled her off. Grunting from the fall, she swiped his feet knocking him to the ground. But he already grabbed her hand. The hand that had her last name tattooed on it.

Gods, how annoying can one guy be?
Aru shook him off. But he had read it already.

"Nice name, Shah."

But his smugness must have crowded his vision because he wasn't ready when Aru tackled him. After choking him to the brink of consciousness, she stood.

"To answer your question, my job is to rob you. But you could have been more helpful to be honest," Aru told the other kid - because he was a kid like her - as she looted the room.

"Troll," he muttered before going unconscious. But Aru had already left the building.

Being a bad guy is GREAT, Aru thought, You get to steal stuff, jump out of windows, fight cute boys and then run away never see them again!

But Aru would see him again whether she wanted or not.

Because no matter what, the universe loves to turn Arundhati Shah's world upside down.

A/N 2 updates in a day! Yay! I will probably make a part 2 for this as well but I'm not sure.

Also, this has nothing to do with the story, but I think it's funny that all the potatoes have awesome full names, and Kara is just Kara

Sending good vibes
