Finally, I finished all my pending tasks. All the dogs had been picked up early. I kept thinking about the young man who had brought Munchies. He hadn't come back to pic him up. It was the same guy who usually comes, David, the son of the owners of The Gates. I let out a sigh of relief, feeling a bit uneasy before.

I cleaned up the place, making sure it was spotless and smelled nice. I was in the stockroom waiting for a couple of boxes that had arrived with products for the dogs when I heard the doorbell ring again. This time, it felt strange because there weren't any appointments left, and All the dogs had already been picked up.

"Good afternoon," I said, hurrying to greet whoever was at the door. When I saw the young man who had brought Munchies earlier, I felt a bit strange again.

He looked at me differently, and it made me feel uncomfortable.

"Can I help you?" I finally asked.

He seemed to snap out of his thoughts.

"Good afternoon. I came to buy a bag of puppy treats for Munchies."

"Sure, follow me. I'll get it for you," I said as I led him to the cashier.

"That'll be $37.50. Will you be paying with cash or card?"

"Card, please," he replied. I took his card, prepared the machine, and he entered his PIN.

I gave him his receipt and the bag of treats.

"Thank you so much for your purchase," I said.

"Do I know you from somewhere? You seem very familiar, but I can't quite place you," he said.

"Hmm, I don't think so. I don't recognize you," I replied nervously.

He still seemed lost in thought, like he had something else to say but wasn't sure if he should.

"Can I assist you with anything else?" I asked, feeling uncomfortable with his intense gaze.

He shook his head and walked away.

That was strange.

I hoped I'd remember to ask Lisa tomorrow if she knew who he was.

As the day came to an end, I headed home, wondering about the strange encounters of the day.

Little did I know that these encounters would mark the beginning of a series of events that would change my life forever.
