In the morning, I couldn't decide what to wear to school. I ended up wearing dark blue jeans with a black blouse.

My blue Converses are a bit old and worn. When I checked my wallet to see if I could buy new sneakers this month, I sighed.

My black hair is long and reaches my waist, which is a good length for me and easy to maintain. Meliah, you need to stop, I told myself, and I left my hair open.

My parents were sitting at the kitchen table, talking.

"Good morning, Mom, good morning, Dad."

"Good morning, Meliah. Are you going to get a little late form work today? Are you continuing with your project?" my mom asked me.

I didn't want to lie to my parents.

 "We finished it yesterday."

"What happened with Mrs. Gates? She didn't come to the shop anymore?"

"No, Mom, she didn't show up anymore."

"Dear, you should leave on time, in case you have to run to catch the bus," my dad said.

"Okay I will go, goodbye, Mom, goodbye, Dad," I said and left the house.

On my way to the gates, I saw a dark shadow approaching. I stopped for a moment, my heart started beating fast, and I got a little scared.

As the shadow moved from the dark into the light, I saw that it was Noah.

"Don't scare me!" I exclaimed.

"Sorry, it wasn't my intention."

"What are you doing around here?"

"Checking if I can see you. Since you didn't answer my message."

"I'm going to be late, Noah. I'll text you later."

"Can I walk you to the bus stop?"

 I hesitated but agreed, "Sure.

"Let me accompany you until the bus arrives."

We walked together, and Noah spoke to me about how he had plans to go to the movies with his friend Manuel.

"Are you going to the gym?" I asked, noticing that he was wearing a nike dri fit shirt.

"I run in the morning. This is just a good warm-up for me to accompany you, and when I leave you at the bus stop, I'll run back."

" are you going to school?"

"Yes, I'm in the 2nd year at Gates University."

"Oh, nice."

"What do you plan to do when you finish high school?"

"I don't know yet; I'm still exploring my options."

I didn't notice it, but we had already reached the bus stop.

"We're here."

"Thanks for keeping me company," I said.

"You're welcome."

He turned and started walking away. He stopped, turned around for a moment, and walked back toward me, handing a kiss on my cheek.

I was surprised and stood still.

"Goodbye, Meliah," he said and walked away.
