CHAPTER NINE:
'The Audition...'━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
━━━━━━Shit. That's all she could think.
The whole cafeteria was now staring at her with judging glares. It's not like she meant to... it's not her fault he happened to be standing behind her chair as she stood up. And it's definitely not her fault that the cold water jug spilt down his uniform.
"Nabi..." Namra muttered with a panicked tone, her hand reaching out to tug on the girls sleeve.
He slowly turned around to reveal the damage she had caused. Today was one of the hottest summer days, meaning he had taken off his school jumper and was left in his thin school button up shirt.
And that had gone see-through. Nabi's eyes immediately widened as she turned back to her table to grab a stack of tissues.
"I am so sorry." She repeated as she frantically began to wipe his shirt with the white tissues, his toned torso on show for the whole cafeteria.
"Stop." He mumbled, to quiet for her to even hear. He let out an irritated huff and clenched his jaw before harshly gripped her wrist. "Just stop." He repeated.
"Jake?" A deep voice perked up from beside them, Heeseung, Jay, and Jungwon all stood there in astonishment. Smirks and smiles increasing on their faces as they watched the pair.
"Here." Heeseung chuckled and handed the boy his blazer, "you might want to cover yourself up."
Jake snatched the blazer and glared down at Nabi - whose eyes were stuck to the ground.
His broad shoulder barged past hers as he stormed out of the large hall, the sound of camera shutters clicking echoing around the room.
-
"Everyone hates me now." Nabi complained as she stood in the line for broadcasting club auditions.
Namra shook her head and rested her hand on Nabi's shoulder. "No they don't. Only Jake does." She corrected with a giggle.
"It's not funny." Nabi whined and let the pout seep onto her face. "I haven't even been here for a month and I'm already the most hated girl."
"No you're not. Ellie Park is and has been for the last two months." Namra reassured and pushed the girl forward in the line.
"Next!" The schools presenter called out into the mic. The stage lit up under the spotlight as the crowd of students broke out into loud cheers.
Nabi slowly shuffled onto the stage, embarrassment and nerves drowning her emotions.
"Hello!" She spoke loudly and bowed with a small smile. "I'm Yang Nabi from Grade 12 Class 4." She introduced.
"Yang Nabi, huh." A deep voice spoke making her look closely at the judges to try and work out who the owner was.
"Why do you want to join the broadcasting club?" He spoke again.
And this time she was saw who it was and instantly wanted to run off stage and hide.
An awkward chuckle escaped her as she stared at the dark haired boy for a little longer.
He wore the pe jacket which was zipped up to his neck, the blazer that Heeseung had let him borrow was neatly presented on the long table beside him.
"Jake!" She blurted out with widened eyes, the whole arena breaking out into laughs.
"You want to join because of Jake..?" The female student sitting beside him asked with a shocked chuckle.
"No! No,no. I didn't mean Jake.. I just said his name out of panic.. what I really meant was-" she rambled but was soon cut off.
"What?" He questioned and furrowed his eyebrows together. "To be on the broadcasting team you need to speak clearly, so repeat what you just said." He ordered with a stern tone.
Nabi coughed to clear her throat and held her hands behind her back as she rocked on her heels. "What I meant to say was, I would like to join the broadcasting club because I think it will be good for my social skills and I am very good at recording things... also! I have a good radio voice." She explained and let out a sigh of relief once she finished.
Jake's lips formed a line as he slowly nodded his head and wrote down notes beside her name on the sheet in front of him.
"That'll be all." The girl beside him stated with a warm smile.
"Next!"
Nabi's shoulder slumped and a red tinge sprung onto her cheeks. She hurried off the stage and felt her heart explode.
She looked back to see Namra on stage, a smile plastered on her face as the crowd clapped happily for her.
-
Nabi excitedly fidgeted in her seat as she adjusted her headset. She bit down on her lip while grinning - her nose practically touching the computer screen.

> I saw that you made rank oneShe couldn't help but giggle. "Yep! I beat you." She mumbled to herself with a grin.
@sheepbutterfly
> Yeah.. you've been offline for a while
> That's the only reason I got rank 1She was lying. Although he had been offline for a while, that's not the reason she got rank one.
She got rank one because she stayed inside of the gaming cafe past her curfew just to get to that rank.
