Tsunami was dumbfounded, she stared at the melted corpse of Burn, "Wha...what just happened."
Clay had gotten off of Peril and stood on his hind legs while leaning on the arena wall next to the balcony, trying to see Glory, "Glory! You're awake!"
Glory looked down and scoffed, "Really Clay...did you all think I was asleep this whole time?"
"Well, you looked pretty asleep."
Glory's scales turned red-orange as she looked annoyed and peeved, "Wow, first time I pretended to be lazy like a Rainwing supposed to be and everyone believes it."
"I'm glad to see you are ok."
"Yeah, I'm glad to see you're fine too, you big idiot."
I walked up to Clay and tapped his leg, he looked down at me, "Hey Clay, could you lift me up?"
"Oh sure." He stepped back and set his head on the floor as I climbed on. He got into the same position on the wall and let me climb onto the ledge. I tossed my sword to the floor and picked myself up, and rolled onto the balcony. I laid on my back as Glory came closer to me.
I looked up to see Glory's face hovering over me, "That was really sad. Just wanted to let you know."
"And good afternoon to you too. Snarky as ever I see."
"Yeah, yeah, weren't we escaping or something?"
I picked myself up and brushed the dust off of my clothes before grabbing my sword. Peril flew over to Clay and touched the clamps that kept his wings from stretching. As soon as she touched them they turned white hot and broke off. They fell to the floor with a "clank" and sizzled in the sand.
Clay stretched his wings and flapped them, "Thanks, can you rescue my friends too?"
Peril looked at him with worried eyes, "Please Peril, if we really are friends."
I yelled to her before she turned to Tsunami, "Wait, release Gill too!"
Peril nodded and flew to Tsunami first, she held out her claw and tapped her neck binding. Tsunami flinched as Peril broke through the cuff. When Peril broke her wing bindings, she jumped to the side and flew to the balcony.
Peril slowly moved to Gill, who stared at her with fear in his eyes. He pulled back on his chains as Peril stretched out her claw. Gill panicked and flailed about as Peril broke his chains, she managed to touch his wing bindings as well, but her claws grazed the tip of one of his wings. Gill flapped his wings and although he was wincing as he did so, he still flew out of the arena and went off into the distance.
"He's actually alive...I can't believe it. He's alive."
Peril was flying to the balcony and I ran out of the way to give her as much room as possible. She lightly tapped the small chain around Glory. It didn't actually hold Glory back, but would still be stuck on her neck if she broke it herself. Clay flew up to the balcony and hugged Glory with his wings.
After the hug he stepped back and pointed at her fangs, "So, when did you learn to do that?"
Glory pointed to me, "It's his fault. He told me to do it."
I shrugged in response, "Guilty as charged I guess."
Tsunami chimed in, "And how did you do it? And we aren't going to bring this...thing with us are we?"
Glory chuckled, "Look, I'm sure Starflight will give us a nice scientific explanation when we get him back, but I would like to leave without anymore complications. As for Hunter we are taking him with us, that's nonnegotiable."
