Hello dear readers!

So here's the new chapter, which I took a little longer to write, because it contains crucial information for the development of the story, and I had to think a little more about how to put them into place. I am also at the very beginning of a new pregnancy :D and the discomforts that you all know well can sometimes interfere with my efficiency and my inspiration. But I'm getting better, and I cross my fingers that this step of the pregnancy is behind me.

In addition, I know that some people are disappointed that Vegeta and Bulma are separated for the moment. I just need to set the table for the rest of the story before our lovebirds get together for good, which should happen very soon :3

Otherwise, thank you for the reviews/messages I received. It's always a pleasure to read you guys!

Enjoy! :)

Upon his birth, Prince Vegeta was quickly identified as one of the Saiyans with the greatest combat potential to ever exist. This is why, after the annihilation of his people by the meteorite that crashed on his planet, Frieza was quick to welcome the boy in his army. His care and training, as well as that of Raditz, still a young teenager at the time, had been entrusted to Nappa, one of the last three Saiyans remaining alive. Over time, Vegeta's talents and devotion had allowed him to climb the ranks in the hierarchy of the Cold's army. His status as a prince having helped him build a name and reputation, he was quickly named General, and since then, he actively participated and orchestrated various operations within the Empire.

Last month, during yet another assembly of the army's Generals, Vegeta was given a new task, on Earth this time. He hadn't been surprised. The majority of operations over the past year have targeted this particular planet. Frieza, obsessed with power and wealth, only had eyes for this blue rock that had just been discovered. In order to limit the movement of his troops, he had even requested that his main ship be stationed in its orbit. The operations, mainly political at the moment, had first aimed to gain Humans trust. But Frieza was not used to this kind of strategy. And above all, he was impatient, and gaining trust took a lot of time. Step by step, over the months, his speech had progressively transformed into something more aggressive, more possessive. And he ended up asking to get what he wanted more quickly.

He then asked Vegeta to do what Saiyans knew best; instill fear and submission in Humans to take this treasure from them. Vegeta's blood naturally boiled with anticipation when he learned the nature of his mission. Knowing that this planet had a moon, he had even planned to attack on an evening when it was full.

But... there was a but.

One day, Vegeta had requested for the plans of the building in which the attack would take place. The choice was strategic, since the targeted nightclub was actually located right below one of the main hideout of the Human Resistance, this group of idiots who thought they could prevent Frieza's soldiers from achieving their purposes. Over the months, this initially negligible group had grown considerably, enough to become a significant nuisance in the eyes of the Emperor. The latter had therefore demanded that the attack targeted this group, in order to send a clear message and make them understand that their pitiful resistance would be no match.

Studying the requested plans, Vegeta, however, realized that he had been given, by mistake, documents intended for Frieza himself. He glanced at it, not expecting to find much. But these plans, very precise and identified as highly confidential, rose his suspicions when he saw how detailed they were. On it, there were directions to a particular room, located at the very top floor of the skyscraper owned by the Resistance.

The mutual trust between the Saiyan Prince and the Emperor being naturally weak, Vegeta thought it would be interesting to venture there. If Frieza had asked for this room to be described to him in such detail, it was probably because he coveted something in it. And if he hadn't talked to the General officially in charge of the mission about it, it was because what he coveted was certainly of great value.
