The next morning...

-Maya's p.o.v-
I woke up to the sound of my clock going off. Groaning, I reached out and turned it off, then grabbed it and looked at the time: 5:38 am. About a minute had passed, and I finally got up to get ready for school. After about 30 minutes, I was ready.

I grabbed my white headphones and my phone off my dresser, then packed my backpack and went downstairs to eat breakfast. Knowing Auntie, she was probably up and waiting for me to come downstairs, I thought to myself. Sure enough, when I came down, Auntie was in her work clothes and eating breakfast. "Good morning, Auntie," I said with a smile.

Auntie looked up at me with her mouth full, so she just waved at me. I then sat down and ate. I didn't have much, as I had to go to school in a little bit. After the both of us ate, we quickly washed the dishes and then got into the car. During the drive to school, I was just making sure that I had everything packed, after checking I looked out the window to see all of the magnolia and I'd have to say it's beautiful.

Every part of Magnolia is beautiful. "Maybe I might enjoy being here," I thought to myself. "Alright, we're going to be there in a little bit. Here is your schedule," Auntie said while stopping at a red light and handing me a paper. I took it and looked at it. "You signed me up for choir and art class?!" I gasped in shock. "Yeah, I thought you loved to sing and draw?"
"I mean, yeah, I do, but not in front of a whole bunch of people - that's embarrassing!"
"Smile and get it over with, Mimi. You're gonna have to audition for singing."

I groaned and looked at my schedule; I had eight periods.

1st - History
2nd - English
3rd - Mathematics
4th - Lunch
5th - Choir
6th - Health
7th - Free time / or art ( don't ask... )
8th - Science

History, English, and Science were three of my favorite subjects.

"Alright, we're here. Have a great day and remember to just be yourself, have fun, and try to make lots of friends, okay?" She said, encouraging me. "It's only the middle of September; I'm sure I'll be fine," I said sarcastically. I then just smiled and got out of the car, and my aunt drove away to work. I turned and looked at the school. "What the hell!!" The school was huge, at least five or six stories high.

I put my headphones around my neck and then began walking through the large campus. While walking around there were a lot of students walking to the doors. I eventually found myself where the lockers were and there were a lot of students talking and playing in the hallways. So, I decided to look for my locker first. "Locker 277..." I thought to myself.

As I continued to walk, I finally found my locker. I sighed and walked towards it, just as I was about to reach it, I bumped into someone who was a little smaller than me and they fell to the floor along with their books and papers.

I looked at the person—she was a girl, probably around my age or younger —and she had blue hair. Just as I was about to help her get her things off the floor, she said, "I'm so sorry for bumping into you!" She shielded herself with her hands. "It's alright; you're fine," I said with a casual voice and I smiled. Then, as I was picking up her things, she looked at me with a shocked expression.

After picking up her stuff, I held my hand out to her so she could get up. She looked at me for a second before she grabbed my hand and got up; I handed her stuff to her. "U-uhm... thank you for helping me and... I'm so sorry for bumping into you!" she said quickly.

I just laughed at how quickly she said that. "It's okay, you're fine; you didn't do anything wrong if anything should've watched where I was going." I smiled. The girl smiled back and thanked me for helping her with her things. "Well, I'm still sorry for bumping into you. Anyways, my name is Wendy Marvell; what's your name?" She asked. "My name's Maya, Maya Pierce. I'm a new student here," I said, walking to my locker with Wendy following me.

"Oh, how embarrassing for a first impression..." She said, looking down. "Ha ha ha!! Wendy, you don't have to impress me. It's fine; like I said I should be the one to apologize for not looking to see if anyone else was coming my way," I assured her.

"Oh, Wendy, are you alright? I saw you fall," I said, turning to see a white-haired girl running towards us. She was wearing a volleyball outfit and had her hair tied up in a ponytail.
"Oh, I'm okay. I was kinda in a rush to get to class early!" Wendy said, rubbing her neck.
The white-haired girl then turned to me with a bright smile on her face. "I don't think I've seen you around here before. Are you new here?" she asked.

"Yeah, my name is Maya," I replied.
"Nice to meet you. I'm MiraJane Strauss," she said, smiling at me.
"Well, me and Mira would be happy to show you around," Wendy offered.
"Really? That would be great!" I said, excitedly.
Just as I was about to say something else...

"WE'RE BACK!!!" I was then interrupted by eight boys who started walking down the hallway, screaming and cheering wildly. "Oh my God," Mira mumbled under her breath shaking her head back and forth. I turned back to the group to see they were heading towards Wendy, Mira, and me. "Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God," I said to myself. Then I saw him...the boy from yesterday.
