-'CHAPTER 9´-
Warmth surrounded the blonde when her eyes fluttered open. Her head was nuzzled into a warm chest, and arms were wrapped around her alongside a coat.
She pulled her head up, aware of the head pain and dizziness she felt.
"It's alright, love," a soft voice whispered. Klaus held the blonde tightly, his coat wrapped around her small frame as her glassy eyes opened, looking tired and red from crying. The sight alone made the hybrid wanna hunt down Stefan and murder him. That's exactly what Klaus planned to do once Eliane was safe.
"What happened?" the blonde mumbled.
Klaus grits his teeth, anger filling his heart, but then he remembers Elaine was in his arms and that the woman needed him right now.
"I'm going to get you home, it's going to be okay, you remember the car with Stefan," he questions.
The blonde put her head back on Klaus's shoulder. "Oh yeah," she mumbles.
A light breeze passed, making her nose cold, and she snuggled into the hybrid's warm body. He seemed to carry her no problem passing the forest trees in the ominous darkness. Despite the squeaks of unknown animals and the fact that the woman couldn't see more than 2 feet in front of her, she felt safe. "Ima rest for a bit, '' she mutters, closing her eyes.
Klaus shakes her a bit, causing her eyes to flutter open again. "Don't sleep love, you probably have a concussion. You're lucky you woke the first time," he says worriedly. Until Klaus could get her to a safe place and feed her his blood to heal the blonde, she shouldn't sleep.
"Oh yeah," she responds a bit hazily. "Thank you," she continued.
"I told you I would always protect you," the hybrid says softly. "I intend to stay true to my word."
"Why?" the woman asked in a voice barely above a whisper as she was a tad delirious.
The blonde was so close to him that he could feel her breathe on his neck and the vibration of her steady breathing.
Because I love you, he wanted to say. Because I never met someone who made me feel the way you do, or someone with your kind heart, your smile, your laugh, your pretty bright hair, or your blue and green eyes. I never met someone with such beauty or brightness you have. Because my life has always been filled with darkness, but you make me feel, you make me worry and laugh, and be happy. Because being near you warms my ever so cold heart, Elaine, I've spent centuries mourning you, and now that you're back, I don't ever wanna let you go.
"Because I care about you," the hybrid settles for.
"Why?" Elaine asks softly, a small coat of pink covering her cheeks. Klaus smiled at her, happy to have an effect on her.
He looks down at her, a soft loving glint covering his eyes. "You're just full of questions tonight," he teases.
"Yeah, I'm half delirious, so I got a lot of courage," she says jokingly, yet there is truth behind her words. Klaus huffs amusingly.
"You look so pretty when you smile," the blonde says, looking up at the hybrid.
Klaus's heart beats a bit faster when the man couldn't meet her eyes, a flustered look on him alongside a smile he couldn't suppress.
She laughs softly "your flustered," she comments teasingly.
"I'm supposed to be the charming one, love." he meets her mossy eyes, and the moonlight beamed down, brightening the beautiful green.
