James and Rose part 1

Chapter4: James and Rose part 1

We've known each other for our whole lives. My mom and hers were best friends. Only reason we never spoke was because my Father was a Pirate and hers is a marine. She never trusted me. Until we were about 10 years old.

11 years ago...

"Hey Mom can I go out for a bit?" I ask. "Sure, stop and get about three apples while you're out and be back before Dark." She responds. I go up to my room, grab my money and head out.

Roses P.O.V

"Mother, I'm sick of being stuck in the house all day. May I go for a walk up to the market?" I ask her. "Yes dear but Jeffery goes with you." She responds. He's our bodyguard. I hate him. He's always just there. I rush up to my room and take off my dress and put on a skirt instead. We head out.

James P.O.V-

I finally make it to the market. There's a long line. I can't wait that long. There's a window right next to the checkout area. It's got a big hole in it from when I threw a rock in it a few months ago. I peep in the window and see the marines daughter Rose. She looks rich. I quickly tap on the glass. She looks. I motion for her to come over.

Rose P.O.V- Ew! It's the drunken pirates son James. What does he want? "Jeffery I wish to look out the window. Stay in line please." I give him the money and walk off. I get to the window. "What do you want?" I whisper. "My mother wants three apples. If I give you the money will you buy them for me?" He asks with a stupid smile.

James P.O.V-

"Why would I do that?" You have to wait in line like everyone else. You're not special!" She responds. I get angry. "And neither are you! We're all equal so stop pretending like you're better than me and to good to do me a favor and just buy the stupid apples!" I whisper yell. She stops for a second. "Fine but you have to do something for me." She says. "What is it?" I ask handing her the money.

Rose P.O.V-

"You see the tall man who's next in line, hes my bodyguard. Get me away from him." I demand. "Deal now get the apples." He says. I start walking to to the apples. What was I thinking? I'm about to run off with a pirates son. Even worse I just made a deal with a pirates son! But I've never felt true freedom before. I bet he feels that all the time.

James P.O.V-

I snuck into the market and swiped some powder off one of the shelves. I snuck out and climbed on the roof. I wait for them. They walk out. "Step back love!" I shout. Rose leaps back. I toss the powder in his face. "Let's go!" I yell. I hop off the roof and we run.

Rose P.O.V-

I don't believe it! My hearts pounding! This is exhilarating! He grabs my hand to make me run faster. He turns and smiles at me. But not a stupid one. He get to a place that says "Cheap rags." He runs in and dashes out with clothes in his hands. He's a criminal. I knew it!

James P.O.V-

We rush to the outhouse, we both get in. "What are you doing! This is very inappropriate!" She claims. Great now she thinks I'm a pervert. I take the bag of apples and the bag to my belt. I hand her a poncho with a hood and some pants. "Put it on." I tell her. "If you think I'm taking off my skirt in front of you you're mistaken!" She shouts. I turn my head and cover my eyes. "We can't have people spotting you and seeing who you are. Now hurry up." I tell her.

Rose P.O.V-

I can't believe I'm doing this! I keep my eyes on him as I put on the poncho first. "Don't look." I tell him as I slide my skirt down and put the pants on. A little baggy but they fit. I put my sandals back on. "Thanks for not looking I'm done now" I tell him. We spend the rest of that day doing lots of fun stuff. Messing with grown ups, playing in the forest, throwing rocks at the guards from the bushes. Before I knew it it was dark.

James P.O.V-

Dark already? Better get home to mom. "It's getting dark I better head home." She says. "Yea me to." I say. "You know we're both probably gonna get yelled at but this was fun." I tell her. "Yes, it was. Now farewell James and goodnight." She says. "Goodnight Rose." I reply.

JamesP.O.V- She's not so bad.
RoseP.O.V- He's not so bad.
