Chapter7: Caged

After we got both ships to the next island we used the rest of our coins to pay for a few nights in a pretty expensive place. We spent the next couples of days working on the Captain's Legacy. "Hey Lockjaw!" I shout from the other end of the ship. He looks walks over to me. "Yea?" He asks. "Do you think I should grow a beard? I mean most pirates have beards like you." I tell him.

"Absolutely not." Rose says. "I think their cool." Terry says hammering a nail. I'll think on it. "Gonna need more wood." I tell them. A troop of soldiers walk up to us. About 12 of them. Two snipers posted on rooftops. And two in disguise by a food cart, watching from the corner of their eyes. "James Hawk?" The captain asks.

"That'd be me." I say hopping down and walking up to him. "Good to know." He says smirking. All of the soldiers aim their pistols at me. "Well damn. If its like that then that guy over there is James Hawk." I say smiling. "James Hawk you are under arrest for breaking into a prison and aiding the escape of John Jones also known as Lockjaw, the murder of multiple soldiers, also you were spotted in a battle at sea with the pirate crew lead by Captain Crush. You and all of your crew are to be trialed as Pirates and you are to be executed." He says to me.

I look back at my friends. They look shocked. I have an idea. I smile at them. I then begin laughing at the top of my lungs. Everyone looks confused. "You think a bunch of dumbass people like them could be my crew!? Ha! Their hostages idiot. I threatened to kill them all. Lockjaw is the only one who's really in my crew." I tell him. Obviously lying.

They cuff up me and Lockjaw and took us away. "You bitches better pray to God I don't get loose from these guards or I'll find you! And cut out your tongues shove them down your throats so you won't scream when I drag you down to hell!" I yell at the crew to make it seem believable. About 2 hours later me and Lockjaw are sitting in a cell together.

"Why'd ya drag me into this mess?" He asks. "Because I need your help to escape." I tell him. "Which me and the crew could've done from the outside." He grunts. "You got a problem with how I handle things then leave the crew." I tell him. "I didn't ask to be bust out of that prison cell! I was gonna die and I was ok with that!" He yells at me. We are both standing now.

"And if I hadn't gotten you out! Then you would be dead! I gave you the right to be free again!" I yell back. "Yea and I'm free as hell in here!" He shouts back. "Well I don't see why you care you were ready to die! I'm trying to get us both out of here!" I tell him. "Yea right. You're just trying to save your own ass." He says pushing me.

"Keep your hands off of me. I kicked your ass once and I'll do it again." I warn him. "Yea but this time you don't have your fancy swords to stop me." He tells me. He Punches me in the face. I spit out some blood. "I warned you." I say. I punch him back. He begins swinging at me. I dodge. He finally lands a punch on my chest. I stumble.

I begin punching him repeatedly until I hear his nose break. It bleeds. He grabs my shoulders and headbutts me. My forehead bleeds. So does his. I punch him in the mouth knocking out a tooth. He Punches me in the stomach and then kicks me into the wall. I take off my shirt and throw it at his face. Then I get up and kick him in the face while he's blinded.

I slam my fists on the top of his head then knee him in the chin. Guards swarm in restrain us both. Since I had won the fight they put me in a different cell. I wait until everyones asleep. Then I get up. I begin sticking my finger down my throat until I throw up. I didn't eat anything just to be safe. I stick my hand in the vomit and grab a key that I swallowed. I stole it from a guard.

I unlock my cell door and begin running to Lockjaw's cell. I unlock it and wake him up. He looks at me with rage and a hint of sadness or regret. "Listen lad, its now or never. Come with or stay here." I tell him reaching out my hand. He grabs it. We sneek out the the back exit. Taking out each guard who got in our way. We were quiet so they couldn't raise the alarm. Once we made it out we got back to the ship. The kids were happy to see us, Rose walked up to me and slapped me. "How dare you scare me like that!? I thought they were gonna kill you." She says tearing up. I hug her.

"I'm not going anywhere Love. Not for a while." I say kissing her. Apparently me and her are in a relationship. "John. I know I may not be the easiest captain to get along with but I swear. I would never put myself before any of you. On my life lad. I know I don't always tell you guys the plan but that's because I trust you enough to just fall in line with me. I'm not stopping you from leaving lad. But I'd hate to see you go. You've become like a brother to me. And I'm sorry" I tell him.

"James. This entire crew has become the family I never had. You have my word that I'm not going anywhere. But I have two conditions. First one, you start telling us your damn plan for once. And two we need a name and a flag." He says smiling. I smile back. "We'll call ourselves the Red Hawk Pirates." I tell him. Everyone agrees. "Now why don't you all get some rest." I tell them. "What about you?" Rose asks. "I just got out of a prison full of men. Me and you are gonna go have a little fun." I say picking her up. We laugh.
