Third Person POV.
. . .
"Pft, Whatever...I'm done with you...Have a nice life-"
"...Freak..."
Jake's heart immediately broke at the sound of those words- his eyes widening in disbelief and heartbreak.
But it hurt Drew more than anyone could possibly understand...
It was as if his whole life had flipped upside down. The friendship he had built up since freshman year had just...Fell apart.
It was like someone had just stomped on his heart and feelings- But in a way...someone did. Jake.
Drew never experienced pain so great before, even when he found out the girl he'd been dating for years was cheating on him. Even when his parents ignored him 24/7...This hurt most of all.
As he walked away, he found himself holding back tears that seemed to threaten rolling down his cheeks right then and there...
But he'd never let that happen.
He couldn't bare the thought to let someone external to himself see him so weak and vulnerable...He barely even let himself see that side of him.
He felt eyes on him as he walked away, but he didn't dare turn around...He didn't want to face Jake again- He couldn't face Jake again.
Once again, he was walking away from his problems...Walking away from his emotions...He didn't want to feel anything all together.
He felt as if he were drowning in his own sorrow...As if he were alone in the world again. Alone in the space...In the starlight.
Starlight...Yes. The starlight.
Ever since Drew watched The Music Fr- Clubs, performance from the crowd, watching how Jake and Hailey looked and interacted with each other...Seeing the obvious attraction Hailey felt for Jake...He hated it. He hated her. He hated the whole club, but no one more than Hailey.
Every time they gazed at each other, his heart shuddered...Was it anger? Jealousy? He couldn't tell.
He didn't stay long, he couldn't bare to watch them any longer...Once their performance ended, he left.
He didn't want Jake to know he was there- Not even Henriam knew where he was...But they speculated.
As Drew left, he tried to contain the tears threatening to fall from his eyes. He'd always seen it as a weakness for himself to cry- though he supposed that was his father's doing...
He managed not to cry, but he couldn't help the empty feeling he felt inside. All the life he once had seemed to disappear...
His eyes were dull, and he'd barely been getting any sleep...But that was the least of his worries.
The thing that was in the front of his mind, was Jake...And finding a way to forget him.
That was all he wanted and needed to do...Forget about the person he'd loved most since freshman year...Since before that. Since the moment he met him, he'd loved him. He hadn't believed in love at first sight before Jake...
But now...
He hated the thought of love.
