Fight or 'Flight'?

After a long time of waiting on Zander, he finally came out of the school.

He seemed like he was thinking hard about something, but I didn't really pay attention...I was too busy thinking about The Battle of the Bands!

We finally made it to Hailey and Zanders house, and we immediately started brainstorming lyrics.

We couldn't really practice yet since there's nothing to practice...

We took a few snack breaks since Hailey and Zanders mom; Shannon, made us some sandwiches and other things over the hours.

Milly immediately went for the snowcones, but turns out Bethany ate them all.

Shannon had to make more just for her!

That aside, me and Hailey (mostly Hailey) were able to get most of the song finished in just a couple of hours!

Everyone else was busy working on the instrument part— Though, Zander seemed once again out of it...

Whenever someone called his name he wouldn't respond until the 3rd or 4th time.

Honestly, all of us were beginning to worry. When it comes to music, Zanders always serious!

This wasn't like him.

After a long time it seemed like he was gradually getting back into his usual self.

I guess whatever he was thinking so hard about wasn't on his mind anymore.

Who knows?

"Finally!" Hailey exclaimed, leaning back on the couch, happy to have finished the song.

"Ughh that took forever!" I groaned.

She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.

"You didn't even do anything but tease me the whole time?!"

I chuckled.

"Oh, come on Princess! I helped out a little."

"Keyword, a little."

I groaned and rolled my eyes, getting ready to tease her again— But I realized Zander was glaring at me so I kept my mouth shut...

"Well...Atleast the song's finished! We still have a few days to practice." Hailey said, trying to relieve the tension.

"Yeah! We're totally gonna beat Max and his band!" Milly exclaimed.

Everyone laughed.

"Heyy! It's not just a competition, it's fun! But...We are totally gonna beat them." Hailey said.

"What happened to 'not just a competition' sweetheart?" I teased.

Hailey shrugged, a grin spread across her face.

"It's still a competition, 'sweetheart.'"

Zander cleared his throat, sick of our teasing remarks.

"That's enough." He said, crossing his arms.

Luke chuckled and wrapped his arms around him.

"Calm down, love!"

Zander blushed slightly but didn't say anything more.

I stared at them, and suddenly an image of Drew popped up in my head.

I blushed and looked down.

What the hell...Why am I thinking of him now!?
