Twelve- When it Rains

I did my best to ignore my situation for the time being. I had 8 months to decide what I was going to do about this child- Either keeping it or putting it up for adoption-  and I wasn't really in the right head-space to dwell on it. Not right now. I had enough to worry about, and truth be told I wasn't in any hurry to ruin Heeseung's life.

"You've been distant, " He sighs, taking the brush from my hand before gently brushing the tangles from my hair. " Won't you tell me what's wrong." he added.

"Nothing's wrong." I lied, avoiding his eyes in the mirror.

"Are you still upset about the photo's?"

"I'm upset that we almost got caught. I'm scared, Heeseung..." I said, which isn't a complete lie.

I was scared. The secrets, the lies, all these hoops we have to jump through just to be together. It's hard. And now with a baby on the way, I just don't see how we can make it out of this unscathed. I'm older... A fact that I've been neglecting since our relationship began. Whether I want to admit it or not, I should be the more responsible one in this relationship. If I had any dignity, I would've nipped it in the bud in the beginning. If I wasn't so selfish, I would've left Heeseung alone and let him fulfill his dreams without having me around to hinder him.

"What are you thinking about so hard?" he asked, smiling at me tenderly through the mirror, as he finished brushing my hair.

He held a hair tie between his teeth and pulled my hair up, securing it in a neat high ponytail.

"I'm thinking about us. About all the trouble I'm causing you." I said softly.

"Hey," he said, turning me toward him. He leaned down and pressed his lips to mine. "You're not causing me any trouble, baby... I Love you, I've never been happier." He said, holding me close to his chest.

I wanted to believe him. I wanted to believe that I brought something positive to his life. But all I could see was the unavoidable pain that would eventually come.

We made our way into the living room, where The rest of the boys and Manager Sejin sat waiting for us– Waiting for Heeseung.

Sejin laid a large headshot on the coffee table directly in front of Heeseung. She was lovely; Long sleek black hair, large doe eyes, and a pair of lips that resembled cherry blossom petals.

"I'm a genius." Smiled Sejin.

Heeseung picked up the photo and examined it.

"She's pretty. Why are you thinking of adding a female member to the group or something?" he asked.

"Close." Sejin said, nearly about to burst with excitement.

"I know her," Said Jungwon. "That's Yoon from StayC. She's pretty talented."

"She is," Said Sejin. "She's beautiful, talented, popular, and perfect!"

"Perfect for what?" asked Ni-ki.

"Yeah, spit it out!" said Sunoo.

"She's the perfect girlfriend for our dear Heeseung!"

My mouth fell open as a collective "What?!" sounded among the group.

"But, we can't date!" said Ni-ki.

"Why the sudden change??" Asked Jake.

A prideful smile stretched across Sejin's face. " When those photo's claiming to be of Hee and Ni-ki were published, I was upset. But then, I caught wind of how popular those magazines were among the fans. The photos weren't even well taken and the fans still ate them up! Imagine how they would react if Heeseung actually had a girlfriend? A very well-known and popular girlfriend that they want to emulate!?"

Heeseung and I looked at each other. I couldn't do anything to hide the heartbreak in my face.

"Manager Sejin, I can't. I didn't sign up for this." Said Hee, standing up from the couch.

"Oh, Yes you did. When you signed your contract you gave the label power over your life. And They agree that this is the best direction to take when it comes to promoting the band. Think of it– The photoshoots, the event's, the joint tours with StayC! Oh It's brilliant!"

"I won't do it..." said Heeseung.

Sejin's smile faded, turning into a spiteful scowl. "You will. Or you can consider your career over. Is that what you want?"

Heeseungs shoulders stiffened, his hands curling into fists. They stared each other down for a solid minute, neither relenting. After a few beats of silence, Heeseung finally relaxed.

"This is bullshit..." He hissed.

"Hey, this is what you wanted, kid. The life you have isn't free, sacrifices must be made." Sejin said triumphantly. "Time to grow up." he added.

Sejin turned to leave the room, but before he did he turned his head to us. "Oh, Yoon will be joining us for dinner tomorrow night to celebrate the beginning of Her and Heeseung's relationship. Please make yourselves presentable."

As soon as I could will my legs to move, I darted away, quickly making my way into my room and shutting the door.

"Hana!?" called Ni-ki.

"What's her problem?" asked Sunghoon.

"Isn't it obvious?" asked Jay. "She obviously doesn't like StayC."

Later that night, Heeseung came to my room, just as he did every night. I couldn't stop the devastated sobs that burst through my chest as I shoved the last of my things into a suitcase.

"What are you doing?! Hana–"

"Don't!.. I can't do this anymore, Hee! I can't! I have to go!" I cried. I grabbed what I could carry and walked toward the door.

"Hey, Hey, Wait! Please Hana!" He pleaded, Taking me into his arms. "Please, you don't have to do this!" He begged.

He held me so tightly, so desperately, I could feel his heart breaking. I didn't know what to do. I dropped my bags and went limp in his arms, letting out all the stress and pain that had been pent up within me.

"I can't see you with her! I won't survive seeing you in the arms of another woman!" I cried, burying my face in his chest as I sobbed harder and harder.

"I know, baby... I know," He hissed, angry tears streaming down his face.

He pressed his lips to my hair and scooped me up, carrying me to the bed. He sat me down gently and kneeled in front of me, taking my hands in his.

"I love you, Hana. You and only you. You're everything to me." He said, conviction burning in his gorgeous eyes.

"Why can't we just be together like normal couples?" I asked. "Why does everything have to be so damn hard?" I weeped.

He cupped his hands over my cheek, wiping away my tears with his thumb.

"Don't cry anymore, baby. It hurts me so badly to see you cry." He whispered.

"We'll run away. Together...Tonight."
