"No matter what happens, It wasn't us." Says Heeseung, pacing back and forth. "We were sick, we were at the clinic, that's our story and we're sticking to it." he said, pounding his fist into his palm to get his point across.

Ni-ki and I nodded in agreement. And I held up the tree forged doctor notes I had just made.

"These will strengthen our alibi, I used to make these all the time and sell them in college."

"Oooh, my bad girl." Smiled Heeseung, licking his bottom lip.

"Ok, ew. Literal kid here!" said Ni-ki, pointing to himself.

"Sorry," chuckled Heeseung, winking at me.

He seemed so confident in our ability to pull this off, but deep inside I wasn't so sure. If we're discovered Hee could lose his contract, I could've very well just ruined his career. Guilt and anxiety swirled around inside my stomach. I felt Heeseung's hands cradle my face.

"Hey, we're going to be okay. Even if the worst of the worst happens, I won't leave your side."

Somehow, that made me feel even worse. He was willing to give up everything for me, all his hard work, all his success. I didn't want that, I didn't want to be the reason his career is ruined.

All I could do is hope that we could pull this off somehow...

A while had passed, nearly a month, and we still hadn't heard anything about the photos. Heeseung, Ni-ki, and I were beginning to think nothing would come of it until Manager Seijin came in with a stack of magazines, slamming them on the coffee table before us.

"What is thas?!" he growled, pointing at the large print on the cover.

" ENHYPEN ENJOYS A DAY OF SUN, SAND, AND SCANDAL"

My heart sinks like a rock and my mouth goes dry and tingly. I do my best to keep my composure, and resist the urge to look over at Heeseung or Ni-ki so that I wouldn't give us away. I swallowed thickly and began to flip through one of the magazines, the others followed my lead. With each flip of the page, I felt like i could pass out at any moment. I finally got to the center where the story was. I cupped my hand over my mouth in shock...

THEY WERE BLURRY! EVERY SINGLE PHOTO! Relief washed over me, you couldn't even tell that those were photos of people, let alone us!

"Yeah, can you believe it?" Said Sejin. "I'm telling you, those vultures will print anything– Anything to make a won. It's shameful!"

"Yeah," I agreed. "It's disgusting really." I tried to calm the thumping in my chest.

"Yeah, whomever this is– They're much too fat to be Hee." Laughed Ni-ki. Heeseung shot him a quick, irritated glance.

"I agree. And this guy they're trying to pass off as Ni-ki looks 9 years old." he retorted.

I whack them both with the rolled up magazine, pressing my lips together in a serious expression that reminds them that they're about to blow our cover.

Manager Sejin pinches the bridge of his nose in frustration and sighs heavily.

"I'll issue a statement tomorrow. I don't want you guys to worry. Nobody is going to believe this bullshit. Besides, I still have the notes from when you were sick. I can prove it wasn't you."

"We're not worried, Sejin. Our only focus is doing well for our fans." Said Heeseung, He and Ni-ki both smiling innocently.

Manager Sejin nodded and left the room.

Later that night, after everyone else had gone to bed, Heeseung came into my room.

"That was close, huh?" he smiled victoriously.

"Yeah...Lucky," I sighed offering him a half smile.

"What's wrong? You seem upset. I thought you'd be happy." He said, sitting next to me on the bed. He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me onto his lap, nuzzling my neck as he always did. I couldn't help but smile at the way his breath tickled my skin.

"I am happy, but..."

"But?..." He whispers, planting gentle wet kisses down my shoulder.

"I worry. That was too close of a call." I said, leaning back so that my back rested against his chest.

"We'll just have to be more careful." He sighs, brushing my hair from my face with his fingers.

A deep saddened breath blows past my lips. I lift his hand to my lips and kiss his fingers gently.

"I wish we didn't have to hide." I said.

"I know, me either baby." he replied, wrapping his arms around me tightly before rocking slowly back and forth.

My stomach rumbles and I wrap my arm around it with a wince.

"What's wrong? Are you hungry?" he asks, placing his hand over mine as I rub my unsettled stomach.

"I don't know. I'm kinda hungry, but kinda sick too. My stomach has been feeling off lately."

He presses his lips to my forehead before gently easing me onto the bed.

"Maybe some salty crackers will help, I'll go get you some." he said, standing and walking toward the door.

"Hey," I say, making him turn his head. "I love you, Heeseung." I add.

He smiles and replies. " I love you too, Hana. So much."

He makes his way into the kitchen and I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror, My stomach is bloated and tight, and I poke at it with my finger.

"Stop being sick." I say, patting my stomach rhythmically with my hands. I lay back on the bed with a heavy sigh. All this stress is making me fat.
