Hello! My name is Jin. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

Jin cringed. He was trying to type out his first message to his match, but he was having difficulties finding the right words. What do you say to someone you've never met but potentially want to spend your life with?

In the end, it didn't matter because she messaged him first.

"Hello, my name is Luna. From your profile, I think we will get along well. Do you have any questions for me?"

It was followed by a second message.

"By the way, they got me to sign an NDA. Nothing you reveal here will be repeated. Although, I don't know who you are yet."

Jin let out a sigh of relief. It was nice not to have to sensor himself. It would be hard to get to know someone when you can't be yourself.

"Hello. My name is Jin. Do you like video games?"

Waiting for the reply was excruciating for Jin. The message had been waiting for him when he woke up and he spent the whole day waiting for a reply. It wasn't until almost dinner time that he finally got a reply.

"Hi, Jin! I haven't played video games in a long time, but I enjoyed them when I was younger. If you're looking for someone to play them with you then I should warn you that I will definitely be very bad at them."

Jin replied straight away.

"That's okay! I can be patient and why would I mind always winning? Haha."

Afterwards, he worried that he was too casual. Was it too soon to joke and tease?

"I'm a quick study. You wouldn't be winning for long."

Luna's response made him laugh. He was glad that they could have this kind of exchange straight away. He preferred light-hearted exchanges to deep thought-provoking conversations. Jin wanted someone he could laugh with.

"I'll look forward to it! What do you do for fun?"

"I make short animations. You can look up Lunanimation on YouTube if you want to see some."

Jin did want to see her work. He was amazed to see these cute little handdrawn animations. They seemed to mostly be inspired by songs. He scrolled through until one caught his eye. It was his song, The Astronaut.

Clicking on it he watched the minute-long video of a cute astronaut not dissimilar to Wootteo, but more human-looking.

"That's amazing! You're so talented! Why don't you do this for work?"

"Thank you! That's so sweet. I don't think I'm good enough to give up my day job yet, but that's the dream."

"What is your day job?"

"I'm currently an English teacher. I moved countries a few years ago and it was hard to get a job as anything else."

Jin thought about the times she had sent her messages and wondered if it was because of a time difference. They had been messaging in Korean but that didn't mean she lived in Korea.

"Where do you live?"

"South Korea, but I'm visiting England at the moment."

Jin was relieved. She lived in Korea. That would make things a lot easier. With his busy lifestyle, a relationship was going to be hard to maintain, but a long-distance relationship would be even harder. They would never see each other.

For a moment he considered asking when she would be back. Was it too soon to meet? He decided it was. For now, they would just get to know each other via messages. However, Jin had a good feeling and excitement for what could come next bubbled up within him.
