Title: A Form of Chemistry

- Y/N -

Tetsurō Kuroo is my best friend and it's been like that since kindergarten. He's always loved Volleyball and even tried to persuade me to join the club as the manager. Although I refused, he never failed to guilt-trip me into attending his practice.

He was at practice with his teammates as my friend, Mika and I were doing our homework on the bleachers. "Oo~ Someone's staring~" Mika teased me as she noticed Kuroo staring at me doing my work. I laughed and rolled my eyes.

"Please Mika, you've been teasing me about Kuroo since junior high. It's getting old," I said shaking my head. She giggled. "Speak for yourself, he's coming this way, bye!" she said before going down to meet Kenma.

Kuroo walked up to me all sweaty. He sat next to me and tried hugging me as he usually does but I dodged. "Ew, you're all sweaty, get away from me," I say. He made a pouty face earning an eyeroll from me. I caught a towel from Kenma and wiped Kuroo's sweaty face. "You should do this more often," he said with a smirk.

I scoffed. "Wipe yourself, pervert," I say throwing the towel at his face. Once he had finished practice and changed he came up to me and tackled me in a hug. "Whatchu doing? You looked stressed out since that time," he commented. I showed him my chemistry homework. He laughed.

"These are all wrong, Y/N. Tell you what, I'll help you out tomorrow after school at my place. Sound good?" He asked. I nodded as I packed my stuff. He carried my bag as he escorted me home. "See you tomorrow gorgeous," he said winking before walking off. I sighed. 'He's such a flirt,' I thought as I closed the door with a smile.

The next day, I was at my last class, English. The bell rang, signalling the end of school. "Oh my god, he's outside," one of my female classmates said. The girls started to crowd around the doorway, peaking my curiosity.

That's when I remembered I had to meet Kuroo. "No time to cure my curiosity. maybe that's good. As they say, curiosity killed the cat," I muttered to myself as I pushed through the flock of girls. One girl pushed me aside causing me to lose balance and fall backwards.

Before I fell, someone caught me. I looked up to see Kuroo looking down at me with a smirk. "Falling for me already, Y/N?" He teased. I rolled my eyes. "You're what these girls were flaunting over?" I shot back as I dusted myself. "Jealous?" he simply asked.

We walked out of the school compound and made our way to his house. He ran ahead and opened the door. "How kind of you," I say with a giggle. "I know I'm the best," he jokes. We head inside and I place my bag down. "Hey, I'll get something to eat, you can lounge on the couch if you want," he says, walking into the kitchen.

I walk around his living room admiring the tidiness. Red velvet curtains hung and outside the window, a beautiful flower garden bloomed. I saw a dark red rose amongst the beautiful flowers. "I'm back," Kuroo said appearing at the entrance to the living room. We sat down and he taught me how to do the chemistry work.

Little did I know, as he taught me, he enjoyed the excited reactions I made when I understood. As I did my work, he asked me to wait for a few minutes.

He got up and left, leaving me confused. After a while, he peeked into the room. "Close your eyes," he said. I did as told and soon felt the couch dip to one side. "Ready?" he asked. I nodded, unable to contain my excitement. "Open them," he said.

Before me, Kuroo held the red rose I saw in his garden earlier with a smile. I gasped and took the rose. "You seemed to like that rose," he said scratching the back of his neck and looking away. I smiled. "Thank you, Tetsu," I said with a smile. He looked away, a light pink hue dusted across his cheeks. He took a deep breath.

"You know, Y/N, I can show you a form of chemistry that isn't in the textbook," he said with a smirk. He knew very well that I couldn't keep my curiosity to myself. "What is it?" I asked. He leaned in closer and closer. Before I knew it, his soft lips were on mine.

I kissed back and a heated makeout session started. We broke apart, gasping for air. We stared at each other, faces red with embarrassment. "My hypothesis was correct," he said regaining his posture.

"You do taste sweet," he said with a smirk. I blushed. "Shut up, Tetsu. I'm not your experiment," I said looking away and covering my face. He hugged me from behind. We stayed like that for a few minutes before he spoke up.

"Did you know, my favourite element is uranium because I love U," he said, making me giggle. "What are you laughing at? I'm serious. I like you, Y/N. Always have," he told me. "I like you too, Tetsu," I said. I sighed heavily, making him worried. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong, I'm just preparing myself for what Mika's going to do when she finds out about us," He laughed.

That's how Kuroo and I found out we liked each other. Mika didn't miss the chance to tease me and tell me how she was right all along about us. I wasn't upset because I couldn't have asked for anything more. A caring boyfriend and a loyal best friend.

EXTRA:

"What should we call her?" I asked Kuroo as he rubbed my belly. "Afuru, because she was created with our overflowing love for each other," he said kissing my forehead. "Y'all are gross, get a room," Mika said, making a face. I laughed.

"Hey, we don't say anything about you and Kenma now do we?" I said. She blushed furiously. "I TOLD YOU NOT TO SAY ANYTHING!!" She protested receiving a smirk from Kuroo. "Ohoho, that boy is in a hell of a lot of trouble now," he said with an evil grin.
