Title: Promises

- Y/N -

"Y/N-Chan, let's get married when we get older," Oikawa said. I looked at him, surprised but soon it turned into a smirk. "We'll have to see if you grow taller shortie~," I said, holding my hand above his head, hinting at his shortness. He pouted, crossing his arms. "Plus, we're only 12 silly," I said, looking away and staring out the window again.

Oikawa and I were having a sleepover since his mom was at work. We've been childhood friends since Kindergarten and would always play volleyball together. "You promise?" he asked. I looked at him, confused. "Promise what?" I questioned. "If I grow taller than you, will you marry me?" he asked, having a determined face. I stared at him, half convinced he would never grow. "We'll see, Tōru," I said with a smile as I continued stargazing.

Little did I know, Oikawa was dead serious.

-----

I had long forgotten Oikawa's request 5 years ago but Oikawa had grown much taller and much more attractive. He was quite popular with the girls in not only Aoba Johsai but most girls in the Miyagi Prefecture.

I was headed for the school gate to go back home when I heard my name being called. "Tōru?" I questioned as he bent down, holding his knees to catch his breath. "Y-Y/N..." He huffed out. "Tōru are you alright?" I asked worriedly as I held his shoulders.

"Y-yeah..." he said, standing back up and brushing his hair aside. His figure towered over me, forcing me to look up at him. "Let me walk you home, princess," he said, kissing my hand with a smirk. "Tōru, you need to stop flirting like that," I said with a blush, looking away.

"Why not? You like it don't you?" he asked, turning my head to face him. "Shut up," I said with a pout, looking away again. He chuckled and held my hand. "Let's go,"

I didn't bother telling him to let go because I was already too used to him flirting. Every time someone would confess to either of us, he would say that we were dating. I wasn't entirely mad at him for doing that though because I never really liked the guys who would confess to me and for some reason, I would feel a pang in my chest whenever someone confessed to him.

The truth is, I knew why I felt that way but I refused to admit it. "Y/N~" I heard Oikawa coo, making me look at him. "You look adorable when you're in a daze like that," he said with a smile. "Tōru..." I mumble. "Hmm?" he hummed in response. "Why are you like this with me?"

"Hmm..." he hums as he turns his head to think. "That's easy," he said, immediately turning his head to face me with a grin. "Because I plan to take you up on your promise," he said. I tilt my head in confusion making him chuckle. "I'm much taller than you now, Y/N," he said, holding his hand above my head, hinting at my short height. I felt Deja Vu.

"I'm going to marry you when we're old enough, Y/N," he said with a smile, the sun setting behind him. My eyes widened in realisation as I remembered our promise 5 years ago. "Tōru..." I managed to utter before he kissed me. "A promise is a promise, Princess," he whispered in my ear, holding my neck in place before planting a kiss and standing back up.

He dropped me back home and waved at me as he walked away, leaving me smiling with a light pink hue across my cheeks. "Was that Tōru?" my mom asked, popping out of the kitchen. I nodded, "He really is a nice man Y/N," she said with a teasing smile. I immediately picked up her hint and blushed madly. "Mom!!!" I whined as I covered my face, making her laugh at my flustered expression.
