When Natasha opened her eyes again, the room around her was dark.

She took a moment to take her surroundings in, before the events from a few hours prior made their way to the front of her mind.

Maria's news, the attack over HYDRA's base, the empty room, the trip to her apartment, and last but not least, Maria finally finding and bringing their baby daughter home.

Looking to her left, Natasha found a sleeping Maria who was lightly snoring and the spy smiled softly at her sleeping girlfriend.

Oh, how she loves Maria.

Natasha loves Maria with a power that is hard to describe with words. The love they had for one another was too deep to be easily understood by the outside world.

Natasha carefully reached her hand and gently brushed her thumb over Maria's nose, making the brunette commander scrunch her nose in sleep with a funny face, making Natasha quietly giggle.

Looking down, unexpectedly, Natasha was met with a pair of green eyes that were staring at the spy through the darkness of the room.

"Hello, baby." Natasha quietly greeted her recently found daughter, a smile glued on her face "Why are you awake?"

You took a moment to think about your answer before speaking.

"Scared." You quietly mumbled, hiding your face in the teddy bear you got from your mother, looking away from her

"Oh, no." Natasha cooed, with a sympathetic tone in her voice "My poor baby. What scared my sweet girl?"

You shrugged your shoulders and Natasha started stroking your hair as you kept your face hidden.

"It's okay, sweetheart." Natasha whispered "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." She reassured "I just want you to know that, starting from today, you will never again be alone and no one... Do you hear me? No one, will ever again hurt you in any way. I promise that I am forever going to protect you. You have me..." Natasha took a deep breath before adding "And you have Maria as well. She will also make sure that you will always be safe."

You avoided looking at Natasha while you were taking her words in.

You know that what Natasha is saying is true.

You know that she is your mama and you know that you are safe with her.

You also know that Maria is a good person. She helped you find your mama and she had been nothing else than kind and patient with you.

Maybe you are finally safe.

"Why don't you come to Mama and try to go back to sleep? Hmm?" Natasha asked with a hum "I promise that Mama will keep any monsters and bad people away from you while you take a small nap?"

Natasha opened her arms and waited for you to jump into them, which you did without the slightest hesitation, making the female Avenger's chest sweal at the fact that she was able to hold you in her arms.

The older redhead placed a soft kiss on your forehead as her grip around you tightened.

It was a comforting hug and both Y/N and Natasha showered in the warmth of it, both girls feeling like their biggest dream, which seemed unreachable, became a reality.

Y/N's dream of having a mother and Natasha's dream of having her own child and her own little family were fulfilled.
