EPISODE ONE
Beth smiled at Tim as he opened the door for her, slipping inside before he followed behind her.
"Rookie day, you ready?" she asked with a smile.
"Yeah it's so exciting," he said monotonously, catching up to her, bumping his shoulder with his.
"Oh come on," she groaned, "you can't not love it. They're chicks and ducks."
The stopped outside the locker room just in time for Ryan to walk out.
"Hello, Elizabeth," Ryan grinned.
"Don't call me that," she rolled her eyes at him, "I'll see you later," Tim leaned down to press a kiss to her cheek and walked into the locker room. Turning on her heels, she started toward her desk, leaving Ryan to slightly jog to catch up to her.
"I still cannot believe that you two are a thing," Ryan muttered.
"Hey-" she pointed a finger at him, "We're not a thing. You know that. We're just- havin' some fun..." she spoke unsurely.
"Isn't he still married?" he asked.
"Isabel's been gone for a year. She's not coming back. He's moved on," Beth repeated the mantra to him, throwing her bag onto the ground and taking a seat in her chair, Ryan moving to sit at her desk across from her.
"Heads up," Ryan nodded behind her. Beth spun in her chair to see Angela and Talia approaching her desk.
"Well, good morning ladies," Beth greeted with a smile.
"Morning, Beth. Say, tell me again why you can't help your best friend become a detective as well?" Angela asked, leaning her elbow on the back of Beth's chair.
She shook her head with a laugh, "I'm protecting you, Lopez, both of y'all. You don't wanna be the new guy who was picked because of a personal relationship."
"Oh just admit that you don't wanna pick between us two," Talia spoke.
"You know me so well," Beth laughed.
Ryan stood, "Yo, time for roll call," he nodded to his watch.
"Perfect timing, Ry," Beth pushed her friends away and watched as they went to sit at their table, her and Ryan moving to stand in the back of the room.
