as riki sat at in the cafeteria of 'grey entertainment' the following morning, he stared at his untouched food while in deep thought.

he wondered why he was so worried about sunoo when he was missing from work. he also thought about why he always thinks about the older, to which he found no answer.

"hey." the blond looked up from the mess he created on his plate to find an unexpected guest sitting across from him.

"hey?" niki replied in an unsure tone. he was confused as to why the male was speaking to him still when there was no reason to.

"how did seeing sunoo go?" jo leaned back in his seat with folded arms as he looked curiously at the younger japanese male.

"it went okay, i guess." riki shrugged. in reality, it didn't quite go as expected. however, he couldn't label it as good nor bad. it was just okay.

"just okay? nothing interesting happened?" jo leaned forward so that his arms were folded onto the table. riki was getting annoyed that he was speaking as if they were life long buddies. it's not like it's any of jo's concern.

"what do you mean interesting?..." niki wanted to know what jo was on about. the older male was acting as if he knew information that was unknown to riki.

"oh, never mind then. anyway, you don't have to see me as competition anymore." jo changed the subject and gave riki a small smile that didn't reach his eyes.

"what are you talking about..." nothing that the older was saying made any sense.

"sunoo broke things off between us. so you don't have to give me dirty looks or think of me as someone in the way anymore." jo stated nonchalantly.

riki raised his eyebrows in surprise, he didn't expect that but something in him was a little happy hearing the other's words but he also wondered where jo go the idea that riki thought of him as competition, i mean why would he?.

"why did he do that? and why would i see you as competition?" even though he wasn't mad about the information, he wondered why sunoo would randomly dump the other and why jo made that assumption.

besides the fact that niki didn't like jo, he knew jo was good to sunoo and a good person. he could just tell.

"he said he's been so preoccupied with you, that he felt bad for ghosting me. also, why else wouldn't you like me?" jo sighed, he was still kind of bummed about losing sunoo romantically, but he knew he'd get over it eventually.

something told him that sunoo was never his to begin with.

"me? why would he be preoccupied with me?" niki ignored the question thrown at him. he himself didn't really know why he didn't like the older japanese male...

jo just gave riki a tight lipped smile and stood up. he began to walk to where niki sat and patted his back before leaving.

"why the hell does he keep doing that?" niki asked himself with a scrunched up face. the blond wondered why jo was the way he was for a moment. when suddenly, he heard a 'ding' coming from his phone.

an iMessage from heeseung showed up on his lock screen that read, 'hey niki! me, jake, and jay, are planning to get drinks tonight. you down?'

even though heeseung was riki's former co-producer, he was also a close friend of his. when they would have breaks in between recording sessions, jay and jake would come by to the company and have lunch or hang out for a while.

once riki left his old company, he hadn't really had any time to see the older males. he realized how much he missed his brother and his closest friends.
