thirty nine.

the next day came quicker than either of the men would've preferred. 

sunoo was packing away the little amount of things he had with him into a bag as niki watched silently with a heavy heart. 

being away from sunoo for the first time in almost a month wasn't something he'd enjoy. but he could handle it if it's for sunoo's benefit. he could endure anything for him.

"i think that's everything." sunoo turned to look at his boyfriend with a frown. when he seen that the blond had the same facial expression, he knew he wanted to cheer him up.

without a second thought, he quickly made his way to the bed that niki sat on and tackled the younger into a big hug. 

they both broke into fits of laughter as they laid on the bed with riki underneath the other. 

once the giggles had died down, sunoo looked down and caught the loving gaze he was receiving from the blond. "we'll be alright, riki." 

"i know... i just miss you already." the younger sighed.

"we'll see each other when you come back to work in a week and we can always call or text. don't be clingy." sunoo giggled and niki's smile grew.

"okay fine, i'll wait until next week i guess..." the playfully rolled his eyes. "that's the spirit! in the meantime, i'll send you loads of pictures of dubu because i know she misses you." 

sunoo placed a peck on the other's lips before finally standing up and getting off from on top of him.

it took a while to leave the younger's house because the blond male kept pretending like he was still hurt so that the older wouldn't leave. but thankfully, sunoo was able to make his escape and was making his way towards his apartment. 

unlocking his door, he was instantly greeted by the lovely feline that sunoo missed so much. dubu instantly began to meow and rubbed her body against his leg to ask to be petted. 

"i see you missed me just as much as i did." he reached down and caressed her snow white fur. the male was finally able to make it past the front entrance and made his way into his bedroom.

"home sweet home i guess..." the raven spoke to no one in particular since the home was completely empty besides himself and the cat. 

"this feels a lot more lonely than i remembered." sunoo sighed as he began to put his items back into their correct places. 

meanwhile, riki was currently sitting at the table with a bowl of ramen. he realized the food doesn't taste as good when you eat it by yourself. bisco was still with jake at the moment so he was left in his silent apartment.

he couldn't finish the food because all of a sudden he had lost his appetite.

as the two woke up the next morning, they both remembered the space besides them was empty. 

sunoo got ready for work and had a positive feeling about today. he missed coming to work, his job was always something he loved. 

riki got up to make himself something for breakfast since he didn't finish his dinner last night. he texted jake to bring bisco home because he missed both his best friend and his dog. 

later, jake had arrived to the blond's apartment and rang the door bell. niki instantly got up from his position on the couch and made his way to the door. there, he welcomed jake and bisco with a bright smile.

"ayee niki! i missed you man, how are you feeling?" jake brought the younger into a tight bro hug with bisco's leash in his hand and the canine hopping up and down in excitement. 

"i'm doing way better, i'm basically back to normal." the blond bent down after the hug to pet the small dog.

both males sat on the sofa to catch up as the canine ran around the apartment with lots of energy.

concurrently, sunoo was getting a coffee from the shop in 'grey entertainment'. he was staring at the board in question of what he should buy for himself when he felt a small tap on his shoulder. 

"hey!" he turned around to be met with the familiar man. 

"jo!" sunoo gave the tall male a short hug. jo wore his charming smile before speaking again. "i haven't seen you around recently, how's everything?" jo asked attentively.

"everything is amazing actually, i was actually wanting to see you so i could invite you to go out with me and some friends. if you're free of course." the raven gave a bright beam as he looked up towards the other. 

"i'm sure i will be, what's the occasion?" the younger questioned.

"we're celebrating niki's recovery!"
