Astoria Greengrass stepped off the Hogwarts Express, her heart pounding with a mix of excitement and anxiety. She had heard tales of the magical castle nestled amidst the Scottish Highlands, but she never thought she'd have the chance to attend. Now, as a new student, the daunting reality of her new life at Hogwarts lay before her.As Astoria navigated her way through the bustling crowd of students, her dark eyes scanned the sea of unfamiliar faces, searching for a glimpse of familiarity. Her older sister, Daphne, had graduated from Hogwarts two years ago, leaving Astoria to brave the school alone.

Amidst the sea of unknown faces, one was all too familiar. Draco Malfoy, the infamous Slytherin, had a reputation that preceded him. His platinum-blond hair and sharp features marked him as a Malfoy, and his sneer could send shivers down anyone's spine. Astoria had heard stories of his cruelty, but she had hoped they were exaggerated.
"Well, well, what do we have here?" Draco drawled, his cold gray eyes locking onto Astoria. "A new lamb for the slaughter, it seems."

Astoria swallowed hard, her courage wavering as she met his gaze. "I'm just trying to find my way to the common room," she replied, her voice trembling slightly.

Draco's smirk only grew wider. "Lost already, are we? Maybe you're not cut out for Slytherin. Perhaps the Hufflepuffs would suit you better."

His friends chuckled cruelly, and Astoria's cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She clenched her fists, determined not to show weakness. But as Draco continued to taunt and belittle her, she couldn't help but feel the weight of his bullying words.

Little did she know that this chance encounter with Draco Malfoy would set the stage for a journey filled with unexpected twists and turns, and a connection that would change both of their lives forever.
Just when it seemed Astoria's first day at Hogwarts couldn't get any worse, a voice rang out from the shadows, cutting through the tension like a knife. "Malfoy, that's enough."
Turning towards the source of the voice, Astoria's eyes widened as she saw a tall, imposing figure step forward. It was Severus Snape, the Potions Master and head of Slytherin House. His presence commanded respect, and even Draco seemed to hesitate in the face of his authority.

Snape fixed his cold gaze on Draco, his voice low and filled with a warning. "Bullying new students is not the Slytherin way. Ms. Greengrass, I apologize for my student's behavior. Please allow me to escort you to the common room."
Astoria nodded gratefully, her heart still pounding but relieved that someone had come to her aid. As she followed Snape through the dimly lit dungeons, she couldn't help but wonder what kind of journey awaited her at Hogwarts, especially with Draco Malfoy and Severus Snape both playing unexpected roles in her life.As Severus Snape led Astoria through the labyrinthine corridors of Hogwarts, she couldn't shake the feeling that her first day had taken an unexpected turn. Draco Malfoy's icy demeanor and the reputation that preceded him had left a sour taste in her mouth, but the intervention of the Potions Master had offered a glimmer of hope.

Snape's footsteps were silent as they walked, and Astoria struggled to keep up with his brisk pace. His long black robes billowed behind him, creating an eerie, almost ghostly aura. She couldn't deny the sense of intimidation that hung in the air, but she also sensed a hidden depth to the enigmatic professor.
"Welcome to Slytherin House," Snape finally spoke as they approached a nondescript stretch of wall. With a whispered incantation, the stone wall shifted and revealed the entrance to the common room. It was dimly lit and adorned with emerald and silver decorations, reflecting the house's emblematic colors.
Inside, the common room was bustling with activity. Slytherin students sat in clusters, chatting and studying, while the crackling fire in the hearth provided a warm and inviting glow. Astoria felt a sense of belonging wash over her as she entered the room. This was her new home.

Snape gestured to an empty table by the window. "You may sit here and get acquainted with your fellow Slytherins," he said before turning to leave.
"Thank you, Professor Snape," Astoria murmured, watching as he disappeared into the shadows. She couldn't help but wonder about the complexity of the man, a mixture of sternness and unexpected kindness.

Astoria found herself a seat by the window and began to unpack her belongings. As she sorted her books and parchment, a few curious Slytherins approached her. They introduced themselves, offering their help with any questions she might have about Hogwarts or Slytherin House. Astoria soon discovered that there were more welcoming faces among her housemates than she had initially feared.
Draco Malfoy's presence still loomed large in her mind, but she held onto the hope that perhaps there was more to him than met the eye. After all, Snape had intervened on her behalf, suggesting that there might be layers to the infamous Slytherin that were yet to be uncovered.

As Astoria settled into her new life at Hogwarts, she couldn't help but feel that her journey was only beginning, filled with secrets, surprises, and the possibility of finding unexpected connections in the most unlikely places.
