Beta James was outside his front porch. Nursing his glass of brandy in the middle of the cold night,when he felt someone approached-someone watching him.
He stood up to look but he smelled him before he even saw him.What was he doing here?.
"James?." He called into the dark night.His three years old namesake walked towards him.What was he doing out there late this night?.
"Uncle." He mumbled and James crouched down to his nephew's level-Maybe they are not related by blood but Jayden-who is the father of kid had somewhat become his brother.So little James is indirectly his nephew.To even say the boy was named after him gave him a sense of responsibility.
"What are you doing out here this late?,were is your nanny?".
"She was the one who said- ."
"Oh Jordan!,that is where you were!,I have been looking for you." Jacque rushed towards them smiling sheepishly at the beta.
She wore a very very light,see-through nightgown.James could have swore he saw her nipples through the nightie but averted his gaze faster.Not wanting to cause confusion.
"You were the one who said-." Little James tried saying but was interrupted by Jacque again.
"Said what?,Sorry Beta I will take him with me now.I know you had a long day.How are you?." Miss Jacque smiled sweetly and almost seductively at the Beta who just sighed.James knew what Jacque was playing.
She'd been doing everything to get his attention for years but he purposely ignored her.He even tried to hint her that he's not interested every now and then but the lady is just too adamant.
"Miss,I don't care what type of game you've been playing or the one you are playing now,but in the future don't involve my nephew in any form.He should be sleeping by now!".James picked the little James up at his chest.
"Oh-I am sorry Beta.It won't happen again.I'm so sorry again.Please let me take him back to his bedroom." The miss whose cheek is colored in embarrassment extend her hands to take little James but the beta turned away from her.
"You can go.James will be sleeping over at my place tonight.Right James?".
"Yes uncle.I will sleep over since mom won't let me sleep in the hospital and dad is not home." The little boy pouted.
Beta James turned and headed inside without turning to see wether Jacque is still out there or did he pick up his remaining bottle of brandy on his way.
"Have you taken your bath?." James asked the three years old he was holding when he lowered him in his bed.
"Yes Jacque has bathed me before she said you were calling for me.I missed you." Little James yawned and the Beta smiled.
"I missed you too.You have a baby sister now.You are a big boy now." The Luna-Helena just birthed a girl that afternoon after intense labor.
"She is tiny but pretty.Mom won't let me take her to show my friends this evening and she won't let me sleep near them in the hospital." The three years old sighed which makes James to chuckled.
"She's too young for you to take to your friends and a little too early.What if your friends break her?." Little James gasped and the beta smiled.
"I won't let them near her.I won't let them break her." The boy said,determined.
"She will be able to play with you all when she's a little older okay?." James promised and the boy nodded with another sigh.
"You go to sleep now.We will go check on your sister in the morning." Thank goodness the boy was already in his sleepwear,James tucked the boy in and peck his forehead.
