The pack house was almost empty.Most of their guest had left few hours earlier and the remaining people are few members of the benevolent pack.

To James relief,no one caused trouble and the christening party went well.The small crowds in the pack house were still dancing and drinking.It was fun to watch sitting on a stool with brandy.

"Here you are." James turned from where he was sitting to find Jayden approach.

"Alpha Jayden,How may I help you?." James grinned at his friend who takes the sit beside him.

"Oh shut up James." Jayden chuckled.

"How are you man?,Helena sleeping already?".

"Oh yes she is.She was really stressed out and had to rest."

"Little James and baby Alexia?." James asked and the father of two smiled.

"They are both asleep too.Alexia is with their mom Incase she needs to be fed in the middle of the night,while I tucked Jamie in to bed myself since he no longer have a nanny." Jayden shrugged.

James was the reason why his little namesake doesn't have a nanny anymore.Although Jacque still works in the pack house, she's no longer Jamie's nanny because of the stunt she pulled.James does not feel guilty about it.

"So,you and most of the Alphas in the area are in good terms?."

"Kinda.I suspect that not all of them are happy,but they don't want to go against us.We are bigger and stronger than them all.. they wouldn't want to get on our bad side." Jayden shrugged and James nodded.

"You know,sometimes I still can't wrap my head around the feelings of no longer being a rogue.Belonging to a pack and being the beta still feels so unreal, like a dream." James took another shot of brandy and stare at the people on the dance floor. Chris was fondling with a lady at a corner,their tongues in each other throats.

"I feel that way too.It feels as if the fight with Derek happened just yesterday and I almost lost Helena.Who would have thought that I,who was so adamant on not having a mate is now father of two.?" Jayden chuckled.

"You were so stupid then. You rejected Helena countless times.I'm glad you finally set your stupid pride aside and embraced her." Still staring ahead James shook his head at his friend.

"It was not pride.It was fear you fool.I was scared of loosing her the way I lost my parents.I don't have the strength to withstand loosing another person."

"Or you'll say you are afraid of turning to what I became after Linda was killed.I understand you,I wouldn't wish that kind of feeling on my enemy." James heart broke with sadness when he remembered that Linda's death day is fast approaching.

He remembered her more.Thinks about her a lot and Sees her in his sleeps more too.Jayden place a hand on his shoulder.

"James..,it's been almost seven years Linda died.I'm sure that amazing soul wouldn't want you living your life miserably.She would want you happy." Jayden patted his back.

"I'm not miserable Jayden.I'm happy.I am the godfather of your two kids and I'm doing well as the beta of our pack.I'm sure Lindy would be proud of me." James replied in a more confident tone.

"Yes you are doing well,but Linda wouldn't want you lonely."

"I am not lonely Jayden.I will not cheat on Linda.There's no one out there for me.I can't picture my self with anyone else.Can you picture yourself with any other person other than Helena?.." A long pause.. "that's what I thought."

Jayden sighed. "James I get it. I understand you perfectly,but you won't be cheating on her.You will simply be moving on.You will be giving yourself a chance to be happy.Go for a chosen mate and if it's not what you want then you let go.But don't close your heart." Jayden advices.
