The soft breeze. The smell of the woods. The hum of the forest. The quietness that wrapped itself around Rose, the sense of utter peace, are always what makes her chooses the night shifts.

Standing by the benevolent pack borderline, Rose breath in the serene air and smiled. Her whole body relax.

Who would have thought that she'd still be alive three years after she was forced out of her previous pack?.

If she had not rescued the Luna-Helena and followed the Alpha and his Beta back, would she had become a psyche rogue now?.

She didn't blame her previous pack for sending her out,she even thought they would get her killed, but was surprised when she was just sent away and now, she's an assistant to the warrior leader of another respected pack.

She dread the day the benevolent pack will see her, learnt her secrets. She didn't want to think what the people would do to her.

Not that Alpha Jayden and the people of benevolent pack are judging, they were also rogues before the moon goddess blessed them to become a pack.

But what she knows is that they won't sit back and let her endanger their pack. They will do anything to protect their people even if it comes to eliminating her.

Rose hoped and prayed that they won't see her ugly self. That disgusting part of hers that she's been trying to lock away.

She walked back to her position. The young man that was her partner that night jerked up from sleep and frantically looked around with a sense of urgency that makes Rose chuckled.

"Hi ma'am." Loran smiled sheepishly at Rose when his eyes finally settled on her.

"Hey Loran..You can relax. It will be morning in two to three hours." She replied.
Before Loran could say anything else, they sensed the beta of the pack approach.

They both stood up and awaits him. What was he looking for so early in the morning?.

"Beta."Loran and Rose bowed slightly in greetings.

"Rose,I already told you times without number to stop addressing me like that. We've known each other before I became the beta.Call me James." The beta grunt at Rose after he nodded his greetings to Loran.

"Sorry James." Rose nodded and James grinned.

"So why are you out here early this morning?." Rose asked.

"Yes,I was hoping to meet Chris here with you.We have things to discuss."

"We could have come to your office when the day is brighter.I take it that what you've come to discuss is an important issue?." Rose raised her brow.Being the second to the warrior leader who is the gamma, always let her in on lots of things. To even say Chris is her best friend.

"Chris would be doing his rounds around the borders.Let me notify him that you are here."

"Oh you don't need to.I already mind linked him that I'm here.He will be with us shortly."

Loran had already excuse himself to allow them privacy when she smelled Chris-the gamma and her only friend approached. She smiled widely at him.

"Hey James.Hi there Rose." Chris greeted cheerfully.

"Chris how are the borders?,and the others ?". James teased.

Another thing about Chris is that he doesn't have a mate. Not that he lost his like the beta, but he had never met her.

He had already given up the idea of meeting his mate.After-all he's twenty-eight,so he enjoys sleeping around.

"Oh you know how the ladies are.Had to fulfill their wishes." He replied with a wink.Rose and James chuckled.
