•Ferris Wheel•
Leroy set her down gently, opened her door, then they drove off to the fairgrounds. The fair was already lit up with colorful lights and the distant sounds of laughter and music filled the air. Holding hands, they approached the entrance, ready for an evening filled with thrilling rides, sweet treats, and people.
As they entered the fair, Naomi couldn't help but smile. She had the perfect matching outfit, a loving boyfriend, and a heart full of happiness. The fair held the promise of adventure and fun, and she couldn't wait to experience it all with Leroy by her side.
They ate cotton candy, and funnel cakes, and went on a few rollercoasters. They even won a teddy bear and a fish for a prize. Leroy let Naomi keep the prizes he won out of the kindness of his heart. They saved the best ride for last. The Ferris Wheel. As they went up, they saw all the colorful lights of the fair below them. Leroy had his arm around Naomi and asked her a question he'd been desperately thinking about.
Leroy asked with a serious tone, "So what are we going to do about Sunday? How am I supposed to sit next to you?"
Naomi replied, "Well the Sunday school kids have a section where they all sit together. When you first walk into church the first place all the kids and teenagers will go is to Sunday class. Then after an hour, we'll go to Sunday service and that's where we all sit together. So you'll have a chance to sit next to me."
Leroy kissed Naomi on her cheek and said, "It's crazy that we've already been together for a year and you are the first girl I've ever gotten this close to."
"Really?" Naomi asked, "By close what do you mean?"
"Spiritually and emotionally mainly," Leroy replied.
"What about physically?" Asked Naomi.
"Unfortunately no," Leroy answered, "That's kind of something I wanted to talk to you about."
Leroy grabbed Naomi by her hand and said, "What I'm about to tell you might just change the way you think about me. During the year we've dated, we've never discussed this topic and I don't bring it up because I've changed since then."
Naomi looked into Leroy's eyes and assured him, "Baby if it's something from your past I won't judge you."
Leroy began to get worried and sighed, "You say that until you find out! It's not that I don't wanna tell you it's just I've never dated a girl like you...you're different for me and the fact that I didn't wait is just embarrassing."
"Okay, I'm confused!" Naomi remarked.
Leroy sighed and confessed, "To answer your question about being physically close. I've had sex before!"
"But Leroy that's not what I-"
"-I know that's not what you meant but hear me out." Leroy explained, "I've had sex before and not just on one occasion either. When I was out there doing that stuff I didn't have a full understanding of what soul ties meant. I was out here like every other teenager and I called myself having 'fun'. But when you meet that certain person in your life or realize yourself. You began to get ashamed that there are parts of me out there that have been given to different girls."
Leroy continued, "That's not to say my body count is high but, I'm saying that if I knew back then what I know now. I would've waited for you because I genuinely feel as if you're the one I'm meant to be with. I don't care how young we are or how long we've dated. A guy knows when he's found the one he wants to marry. And with you I'm certain!"
Naomi is at a loss of words at first and she's not certain about what she wants to say. But she knew deep in her heart that she wouldn't judge him for his past and she liked the fact that he acknowledged his past and opened up to her about it. She also loved the fact that he wanted to marry her and that he was sure of it.
Naomi held his face and said, "Baby, I love you regardless of whatever happened in your past. I don't blame you for it. Besides, I'm not dating the Leroy in your past...I'm dating Leroy for who he is now. What happened in the past doesn't change how I feel about you. I Love you!"
She kissed him deeply and it made Leroy feel ten times better now that he's confessed his secret to her. Leroy felt the need to open up to Naomi because he believed that many Christian girls desire a partner who is fully sanctified, pure, and righteous in the eyes of the Lord, perhaps even a virgin. However, ever since he started dating Naomi, he experienced a change of heart and tried his best every day to be the person she needed. Not only for Naomi but for himself.
After the Ferris wheel ride was over they began dancing to the country singers that were singing on stage. Leroy was dancing with the fish in his hand and Naomi was dancing with the Teddy bear in her hand. They danced happily, laughing and enjoying the music, surrounded by a cheerful atmosphere.
After that was over Naomi felt sleepy and it was close to midnight so they decided to go home. As Leroy was driving Naomi fell asleep in the passenger seat. Leroy smiled at her face, as she slept looking all peaceful. His heart smiled knowing that he made her happy tonight and hopefully, it can stay that way in the future.
Leroy parked down the street from Naomi's house and gently woke her up. They shared a sweet goodnight kiss, but Leroy was concerned about the darkness and fog in the air, so he offered to walk her to her home. Naomi appreciated the gesture but declined, assuring him that she would be fine on her own.
Once Naomi reached her house and climbed in through her window, she immediately called Leroy to let him know she was safe. Leroy made it home safely as well, and they talked for a while reminiscing the fun they had. In their talking, Naomi was also writing in her journal, and eventually, they both drifted off to sleep while still on the phone.
