Layla's pov:

It had been almost a month since we had engaged in sexual intercourse, exactly a month. Yusuf had told me a week later that he hadn't used a condom during that time, which made me a little scared. But thankfully, I got my period, and I also had a test done, which confirmed that I wasn't pregnant. I don't know how it happened, but I wasn't. I want to enjoy my life with Yusuf for a while before thinking about having a baby.

During this one month, our relationship has become even stronger, and Yusuf often takes me out for dinner. Last week marked my last day as Yusuf's secretary at the office because my college was about to start again.

I stepped out of the bathroom, after having bath, and went to the closet to choose my outfit for the day. I picked out a white frock with a square neckline and puffy sleeves, pairing it with heels since i was going to have lunch with Maha. After getting dressed, i started applying my makeup.

As i was in the middle of doing my makeup, my phone chimed with a message notification. I picked up her phone and saw a message that read, "Meet me at 4 in blah blah restaurant from Elaf." She paused, carefully considering the message. However, i decided to ignore it, as i wasn't the gullible person Elaf seemed to think i was.

But just as i put her phone down, it buzzed again with another message, this time saying, "I want to talk about Yusuf." i sighed and replied with a simple "Okay" after seeing the sender's name.

I then messaged Maha, who i was supposed to have lunch with, "I can't make it today; we'll reschedule for another day." With that, i focused my attention back on finishing my makeup, wondering what this conversation about Yusuf would entail.

I had just finished getting ready when i felt Yusuf's arms wrap around me from behind. He hugged me gently and asked, "Where's my lovely wife heading all dressed up?"

I hesitated for a moment, not wanting to reveal my plans to meet Elaf. So, i replied, "I'm going to meet Maha."

Yusuf, with his eyes closed, buried his face in my hair, taking in my scent. He then said, "Alright, meri jan." After a moment, he added, "I could drop you off, but i have some important work at office so i can't drop you off, I'll tell the driver to drop you off."

I, not wanting to trouble Yusuf, quickly responded, "No need, Yusuf."

With a tender goodbye, Yusuf left for ths office, and i was left to contemplate my upcoming meeting with Elaf, hoping it wouldn't bring any unwelcome surprises.

-------------------

I had been waiting at the restaurant for the past half-hour, growing impatient for Elaf's arrival. Finally, she walked in and greeted me with a remark, "Layla, my darling, you are looking so pretty."

I had no patience for her small talk and irritation simmered within me. I retorted, "Elaf, whatever you want to say, say it quickly."

Ignoring my annoyance, Elaf waved a waiter over and ordered some orange juice. She then continued, "Layla, you're so innocent. Yusuf is playing you for a fool, and here you are, going crazy for his love." Her face bore a mischievous grin, and I couldn't stand her taunts.

I couldn't take Elaf's provocations any longer and firmly demanded, "Whatever you have to say, say it clearly, Elaf."

Elaf responded, "Layla, Yusuf's heart still belongs to me. He's with you out of necessity, not love. How much time have you spent with him, just three months? I've been with him for the past two years. He used to be with me every night, and I was the first woman he was intimate with."
