LAYLA YASIN:

Do you Layla Yasin daughter of Yasin ahmed accept Yusuf Hunain to be your husband with the Mehr of 3 lakh lira?! Asked the nikkah khawan,

The nikkah khawan stood before me, a figure of authority in this solemn ceremony that was about to irrevocably alter the course of my life. I closed my eyes for a brief moment, inhaling deeply as if trying to gather the strength to face the inevitable. The air felt charged with a mixture of emotions—uncertainty, anxiety, and an undeniable sense of resignation.

Accepting him as my husband was a decision that felt forced upon me by circumstances and societal expectations. I had never imagined myself getting married at this stage of my life.

My dreams had been different—I had aspired to become a doctor, dedicating my life to healing and medicine. But the unpredictable turns of fate had led me here, sitting in front of the nikkah khawan, a delicate veil obscuring my face.

In that moment, the conflict within me intensified. I wanted to shout, to declare that I didn't consent to this, that my heart wasn't ready to accept this commitment. The weight of tradition, of family expectations, and societal norms pressed heavily on my shoulders.

The thought of running away from this situation, from the binding chains of a marriage I wasn't sure I was ready for, flickered in my mind like a desperate escape.Yet, the consequences of such an act were clear to me.

I was engulfed in my thoughts when i felt someone tugging my hand i turned my face at that direction to see my father seeing me with pleading eyes "Kız(daughter) molvi shb is asking for your content. "I gazed towards my hand to see his name on my hand written with mehndi, tears were on the edge of my eyes controlling my tears i did for what i was sitting here" I do,i do,i do"

The moment i accepted him,the sounds of congratulations stared coming from all around me.I was suddenly engulfed in a bone cracking hug from my father,
"Congratulations Kızım. (my daughter)"

"Shukriya Baba. (thank you baba. )" Baba then kissed my head and moved away from me,Suddenly my veil was lifted by someone it was my mother in law.

"MashAllah MashAllah so beautiful. ",She cupped my cheeks with her hands"My son is so lucky to have you as your wife. "

I smiled and and adjusted my veil again in front of my eyes they made me sit on a sofa in a hall and then I felt that someone sat beside and due to my veil i can't see anything,"You are suppose to lift her veil and kiss her forehead Oğul. (son)"

I heard the voice of my mother in law
"Maa you know i don't like these things"
"But it's a ritual Oğul you have to do this"
A loud sigh suddenly echoed from my left side, drawing my attention with its abruptness. My heart responded immediately, pounding so rapidly that it felt as though the sound of my heartbeat reverberated in my ears.

I snapped out of my trance, my senses sharpening as I struggled to regain my composure. Then, as if guided by some invisible force, my focus shifted. I could sense someone's presence, someone who was approaching me. And before I could fully comprehend the situation, I felt a gentle tug on my veil.

My heart raced even faster, the anticipation nearly overwhelming. Instinctively, I lowered my gaze, my breath catching in my throat. I knew who stood before me. His presence alone was enough to evoke a storm of emotions within me.

As if in a dream, I watched as he reached out and placed his finger beneath my chin. Slowly, he lifted my head, and our eyes met—his almond green orbs locking onto mine.
