"What are you doing here, Tita? Resnie?" Elij asked first.
I was still shocked. Hindi pa rin ako makapagsalita.
"Uhm, we're just... uh..." Resnie was hesitant.
"We didn't eavesdrop! Swear, we didn't hear you coming back together again!" Tita Savannah straightforwardly blurted out.
"My god, mommy!"
"What?" She just innocently asked her daughter who's now shaking her head in dismay. "We only heard a bit. Just bit. I didn't know you two had a past! And we were just about to go out and leave you two alone when you started kissing, you know! Right, Resnie?"
"You're unbelievable, mom."
"Let's just talk downstairs, Tita." Elij spoke and held my hand.
Tita Savannah's lips turned in an exaggerated O when she saw it. Resnie noticed her mother's reaction so she grabbed her hand too and pulled her away. She smiled at us before turning their back on us. We watched them went out from the room.
"What do you think will be her thoughts about us?"
"She'll get disappointed 'cuz she thought you and Ada is a thing. Tss."
Siniko ko siya. Napabuntunghininga ako at hindi na nagsalita pa. Niyaya ko na siyang bumaba kahit pa gusto niyang ituloy ang naudlot na ginagawa namin kanina. I went to the restroom and retouched. Hindi na ako nagpasama sa kanya at pinauna na lang siya sa table ko. Bumalik ako sa venue at nakisalamuha sa mga nakakasalubong ko.
I am now walking towards my table. There I saw, the Malcolms family. My legs slightly trembled. I smiled when I saw Ada waved at me. Mukhang kararating niya lang din. Ipinaghila na niya ako kaagad ng upuan. Napasulyap ako kay Elij dahil may isang upuan pa sa tabi niya at alam kong nireserba para sa akin. He slightly rolled his eyes and nodded when I apologetically smiled at him, I sat beside Ada.
"Whose coat is that?" Tukoy ni Ada sa itim na coat na nasa balikat ko at umupo na rin sa tabi ko.
"Mine,"
Sabay-sabay kaming napabaling kay Elij nang bigla siyang sumagot. Kumunot ang noo ni Ada at nagtatakang bumaling sa akin.
"You're close now?"
"More than that."
"She's Marcus' girlfriend, Ada."
Sabay na sumagot si Elij at Tita Savannah kaya nagpabalik-balik ang tingin ko sa kanila. Elij was serious, Tita Savannah was smiling ear to ear. Resnie was stopping her mother. Tito Addam and Adredd were just silent but confused.
"Huh? Kailan pa?"
"She was the girl I was talking about, Ada. My girlfriend back in college," he smirked proudly. "Still, my girlfriend until now."
"Woah, I'm surprised." Ada glanced at me, "Is it true?"
"Yeah," and I smiled and nodded.
"Just wow. Small world huh?" and he laughed.
"Oh, I remember too! The one you told me about, Marcus! Was she the sweet, genius, pretty girl you want me to have as my model back then?!" Tita Savannah suddenly interfered and very stunned when she remembered something.
"I think, she was also that girl you kept telling us about you will marry after you both finish med." Tito Addam smiled.
"Ah. The kind of girl you told me to search for when I'll fall inlove too, Kuya." Adredd shook his head and chuckled.
"H-Hey, stop. You don't have to say those things-"
"And the one who broke up with you over the phone?" Ada teased and smirked. "You cried a lot before huh-"
