Road Trip Part 2

Today is the last full day of our vacation here at the river. I woke up and the sun was streaming through the patio door windows in our room. I turned over expecting Josh to be laying next to me but instead, he wasn't there. I sighed and closed my eyes again, trying to sleep a little more before everyone woke up. I heard the balcony doors slide open and close but I didn't want to move from my spot. I was so comfortable!

"Joshy?" Josh walked over and jumped on the bed causing me to bounce up and down on the bed.

"Good morning beautiful!" He planted a kiss on my cheek

"You missed"

"What?"

"You missed" I smiled and pulled Josh down to kiss him. He smiled into the kiss and kissed me back harder. Before I knew it, our tongues were exploring each others mouths. He pulled away, leaving me breathless, and planted kisses on my jaw and my neck. His beard was tickling me causing me to giggle. I threaded one hand through his hair and put the other hand on his bare back.

"How long have you been up babe?" He planted one last kiss on my collarbone and laid his head down on my chest as I continued to play with his hair that was getting longer than usual.

"About 30 minutes or so. My mom called and woke me up so I went outside so I didn't wake you up"

"Is everything ok?"

"Yeah, she was just checking in. And then Connor wanted to talk for awhile. Girl problems."

"Oh"

He grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers, causing me to smile.

"I love you Kaylee"

"I love you too Josh"

"After this trip I don't think I'm going to want to go back to L.A."

I laughed. "I know right"

"It's so peaceful here. No paparazzi, no fans, no cameras. Just me and you and close friends"

"I know. But I do miss our families and Driver. Driver is going to be so excited to see his daddy when you get back to L.A.'

"Next time we do this we have to bring him with us. He would love it out here"

"Yeah, he would probably swim more than us and be chasing squirrels and birds"

"He wouldn't know what to do with himself. You remember the first time you met Driver?"

I laughed at the memory.

"How could I forget? He took me down!"

"I don't know why but I was a little nervous about that"

"Really why?"

"Well you know how they say dogs are a good judgment of character?"

"Yes. But Driver loves everyone"

"No the past few girls I dated before you"

"No way! He is the sweetest!"

"They would try to like lure him to them with food, and he wanted nothing to do with them."

"That's too funny! I think it's safe to say he likes me"

Josh laughed at my response

"Likes you? That's an understatement. He gets all sad when you leave after visiting. He knows that you are going to be gone for awhile. I think he loves you more than me"

We laid there talking for about another 20 minutes, then there was a knock on the door.

"Is it safe to come in? Or are you two naked?" Josh sat up and leaned against the headboard of the bed.
