This morning I woke up and reached over, hoping to feel Josh laying next to me, but I knew he wouldn't be there. Instead, I woke up to an empty, cold space beside me hinting that Josh had been gone for awhile. He woke up early to go visit the children's hospital in Cincinnati, but he texted me to let me know that they were still at the hospital.
Good morning beautiful,
I left really early this morning and didn't want to wake you, I know you needed your rest after your long flight yesterday. But i'll see you later at the game. Can't wait to see you :)
I decided against calling him, because I didn't want to interrupt him if he was with some of the kids, even though I really wanted to talk to him.
Morning Josh! Missing you this morning. Was hoping to see you when I woke up :'( You having fun with all the kids?
I got up and took a nice hot shower thinking about what we would be doing today. After I hopped out, I did my make-up then blow dried my hair before curling the ends, just like Josh likes. It took about 30 minutes for Josh to text me back but when he did he said that he was having a great time meeting all the kids but it was hard not to feel bad for them and all they have to go through.
After that, I pulled out the Reds shirt that Josh had bought me to wear to the game. I paired it with some short white shorts and sparkly sandals. When I was dressed and ready, I headed upstairs from Josh's bedroom to find Michelle and Connor in the kitchen.
"Good morning sweetheart!"
"Good morning. Sorry for sleeping in so late."
"Oh it's no problem! I know that your flight was long."
"What really got me was that layover in Dallas and then my flight was delayed 3 hours. It was ridiculous!"
I grabbed a piece of bread and made some toast real fast before we had to head out. After that, we began to gather our things to head to the game. I was in the living room, making sure I had everything in my purse, when I suddenly had an epiphany.
"Hey Michelle?" She was in the kitchen cleaning her purse out.
"What's up?"
I walked around the corner to find her.
"Do you know if Josh grabbed his baseball pants this morning? He said he threw them in the dryer last night."
"I don't know. He left before I was up and I haven't checked the dryer."
"I'll go look. Knowing that boy, I bet he forgot them!"
I walked into the laundry room near the garage and opened up the dryer. Lo and behold, there they were. A wrinkled pile of white fabric in the dryer. I took them out and ironed them quickly then folded them neatly. I walked back into the kitchen and held them out to show Michelle.
"I don't know what that boy would do without you!" Connor walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water.
"Well apparently, he would be playing baseball in his underwear in front of thousands of people." Michelle and I laughed at Connor's comment and I put Josh's pants into my purse. About 15 minutes later, we left to meet up with Josh and Andre at the stadium. I hopped in the back seat and Connor sat in the passenger seat. We were about half way there and my phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hey babe,"
"Hey Josh. How was the hospital?"
"It was a lot of fun. Kinda sad to see those kids going through some pretty rough things at their age though, I met this one little girl. She had to be no older than 7, and she was the sweetest thing ever. She was nervous at first but then once I started to talk to her, she started to relax."
