Chapter 57

After a solid 17 hours of reducing Jiwoos pain, I finally reached my limit. "...I was able to sleep well thanks to you, hyung. Thank you" Jiwoo weakly smiled, breathing as lightly as possible after his pain reactors came back and sent him into the torturing aches again. "Hold on for 5 hours. Once I replenish my power, I can use it again" Kain, although feeling extremely tired, smiled to little Jiwoo. "You didn't eat anything this entire time. Please go eat something while resting as much as possible. I'll be fine without you using all your abilities on me" Jiwoo started to feel bad.

He's being too selfish. Kain had stayed up all night and half the day already just to keep him from being in pain. All while starving himself too. It's too selfish. "That's my choice to make Jiwoo. And I chose to help you. I just...I don't like seeing you hurt" despite being in agony right now, when Jiwoo felt my gentle hand placed over his, glancing up at Kains red eyes full of worry and fear for his well being, his heart raced. I have always been beautiful in Jiwoos eyes from the moment we first met, but today, as my hands clasped around his, I looked gorgeous to him. Beyond what words could ever describe.

"You know hyung...that's not fair" Jiwoo had a light smile on his face, redder than a tomato as I looked at him. "What's not fair?" I asked, seriously confused. "You're always there for me in everything. You're so sincere when it comes to me. You...you make it seem like I'm your first priority" I flinched. He's not wrong, protecting Jiwoo is basically the only thing I've been trying to do so far. Mostly because I knew him from the Manwha. "Yet, I still hardly know anything about you" I pursed my lips. Letting go of Jiwoos hand and sitting back.

"Well, you can ask me as many questions as you want when we have that planned dinner later. For now, just focus on recovering" Jiwoo blinked, pouting a bit but nodded nonetheless. "Good" I reached over, lightly patting his head as he closed his eyes to rather focus on my warm hand rather than his screaming limbs.

"Jiwoo!" But he felt slightly annoyed when my hand retracted from his hair upon Jiwoos friends arrival. "You guys!" But once he knew it was Jisuk, Subin, and Wooin who interrupted them, that prickling annoyance disappeared immediately. "...what are you doing here?" But, of course, when Jisuk caught sight of me, his entire mood shifted. The bright eyes and wide smile completely wiped off his face addressing me. "Visiting. I'll be going now, get better Jiwoo" I smiled to him, patting his hand once then walking away. "Ah- right. Yeah, I will. Thanks hyung" Jiwoo forgot that I'm still hiding the fact I'm an awakened one.

After the vice chairman of Baekdu saw him, he thought word would've spread by now. Seeing how his friends still acted the way they did with him, figured it was still successfully concealed. But before I could exit the room, I was stopped by a little tug at my shirt. Looking back, Wooin stood behind me. His fingers clasped on my clothes. "If you wanna talk, meet me in the cafeteria on the first floor. I know you're worried about Jiwoo" I patted Wooins shoulder, feeling him stiffen up at my touch. After a second, he nodded. Letting go as he made his way to Jiwoo again.

My gaze landed on Jisuk, his arms crossed and glaring at me still. How long is this guy going to keep cautious around me? It's been months. "Bye" I bowed to them. Earning a light bow from Wooin and Subin but Jisuk simply turned away.

I silently closed the door, feeling my heart getting heavy as I heard their happy voices muffle through the door. "Kain" I flinched, turning to see Kayden. "Jiyoung Yoo wants to see you" he turned, hearing the click clacks of heavy shoes making its way to the pair. I turned, feeling dread to see Suho coming towards us. "She came by your room when I told her about what you were doing for Jiwoo. She said to come by her office when on break" Kayden, although ignored his existence altogether. Same went with Suho.

"Young master. I'm glad to see you having recovered enough to walk" He bowed to me. "Uh- yes, thank you for bringing me here. It was nice being able to see Jiwoo as soon as I woke up" I smiled, watching Kayden let out a mocking laugh like scoff. Making Suho stiffen then frown deeply. What's with that reaction? Watching both guys look at each other, one clearly saying 'I told you so' and the other wanting to punch him. "Well, I'm going to pick up lunch then head to Miss Yoo's office" I bowed to Kayden, feeling a bit awkward after our little hug and pouring my heart out to him in the hospital room.
