Chapter Seven

Katatapos ko lang maligo. I felt a little unwell, not only because I was stressed from today's events but also because of the intense things we had been through. Agent Candy, or Sergeant Candy as she's known here, gave me some medicine. While Jade told us to rest for a while because he and Sergeant Candy had something important to discuss.

"Gusto ko na matulog pero hindi ako makatulog." Wika ni Athena.

"Matulog ka na, babantayan kita." Saad ko. Pero ang totoo, ang bigat na rin ng mga mata ko.

"Ayoko... Sharpay gusto ko na umuwi sa bahay. Nagsisisi ako, sana hindi nalang tayo pumunta sa hide out ni Jade."

I sighed and leaned back against the couch, closing my eyes. I was starting to feel drowsy, probably from the medicine.

"Wag mo na isipin Athena, tulungan nalang natin si Jade na mabawi yung invaluable something na sinasabi nya na ninakaw noong nag crashed ang security system natin. Yun nalang ang tanging paraan para mabalik sa normal ang mga buhay natin." I murmured..

“I’m sorry, Sharpay… Jade’s right. It's all my fault. Maybe it was because of the virus I opened that this is happening,” she said.

Hindi na ako nakasagot, narinig ko nalang ay ang malalim na pagbuntong hininga nya. The room went silent. My eyes were getting heavy.  But before I could fall asleep, Jade and Sergeant Candy came in, telling us to move to their lodgings. Kaya sumunod kami ni Athena.

"Magshare nalang kayo sa room, ito nalang kasi ang nag-iisang available dito."

"Yes Agent." Sagot ni Athena, habang ako nanatiling tahimik.

When we walked into the room, I immediately collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep.

The next day, I woke up to a hand gently touching my cheek.

“Sharpay, wake up… Sharpay…”

I slowly opened my eyes and saw Athena’s face inches from mine.  I jumped up and sat down.

“Good morning.  Let’s go have breakfast. Are you feeling better?” Athena asked.

“Uh-y-yeah…” I answered, avoiding her gaze.

I got up to go to the bathroom, freshened up, and then joined Athena outside. When Jade saw us, he invited us to have breakfast. He handed us cups of coffee. We sat down and started talking.

“Look, there’s another CIA agent who has gone rogue. The day our security systems were down, she broke into our facility and stole the key to a new weapon the government’s developing. She framed me for the theft. Now everyone thinks I’m a traitor. But luckily, the key was heavily encrypted. If someone can break the code, it could be the end of us. So I have to get it back before she does. It’s the only way to clear my name and save our colleagues. That’s why I couldn’t let myself get arrested,” Jade explained.
