"You'll be lucky if the owner doesn't press charges." The officer says, he took me back to the Gibsons where my mom is not happy.

The sun isn't even up yet, "Thank you, I am so sorry for the trouble." My mom walks the officer out.

"We know the owner. He's a friend of Thommo's," Abbie says in her flowery robe, "I'll help board up the window in the morning."

"Well, you're not even going to watch nationals so you can help." my mom walks back in.

"I know." I nod and my mom looks stunned that I didn't argue or fight about it.

Honey doesn't take that, "What? She has to go! Come on, mum. Who doesn't wanna throw a rock at Wrens face?"

"I would have preferred a brick." I sigh and pull myself up to the counter, remembering everything that went down last night.

"Amen."

"You better watch what you say, you're dangerously close to going to boarding school." she walks out then adds, "In florida!"

"Okay let's talk about this in the morning!" Abbie walks Honey back to her room.

I look at Ari who hasn't said a word this whole time, "Don't give me that look." He sighs and looks down.

"What look?" I feign innocence, "The, 'You cheated on your girlfriend look' ? or the 'You had sex with your girlfriend after kissing my sister' one?"

His head shoots up to look at me, "How did you-"

"I know everything, Goldie." I catch myself using that nickname for him. One that I didn't makeup but have heard a hundred times from Bax.

"I..." He tries but fails.

"Look, Ari." I lean against the counter across from him, "Listen up because I'm only going to say it once." I snap, "Summer and I are leaving in a week. If you want to be with Wren, then fucking be with her! But don't look at Sum like she's still your whole world. She doesn't deserve that." I stand up and head back to bed.

I can't sleep so I head to the beach, Bax's surfboard under my arm.

The board is so smooth and so fun, not like Summers old one. The waves are cool and i'm the only one out in this area.

As I surf, I think of how everything went to shit last night. Bax... I don't know what would have happened if he hadn't told me about the fins.

I jump in because I desperately need to stop thinking of him. I miss the water when i'm in New York, the surf isn't like this.

"Summer painted this?" Abbie grins as we move the slab of glass, "This is really cool. You know, I miss seeing your art it was so fun!"

"Stop being nice to me Abbie, I'm supposed to be getting punished. Stole your punch and all."

She shrugs, "Sorry. Not my kid to punish."

"Plus you're doing a pretty good job of that yourself." My mom walks in and i'm suddenly extremely nervous by the pleasant look on her face.

"I'm sorry for going out this morning- I just needed a breather."

"I'm not going to discipline you for what we all love." She sets her bag down and I frown, confused. "I saw the CCTV from the surf shop." I turn to her quickly.

"Poppy's lucky to have a friend like you." I glance at Abbie who's smiling, "I will have a talk with Summer about leaving her sister on the side of the road, but still. I'm proud of you."
