Hello everyone, I'm writing this in the middle of the night :)
Also, I'll be writing from the ravagers povPerhaps it was karma, perhaps it was on purpose, ot perhaps it was a cruel joke of the universe.
The large hulk of a beast had gone on many raids, the good, the bad, the ugly, but this, this one took the cake.
They hadn't even reached their destination yet when they were ambushed, it could still see the bloodshed when it closed it's eyes, the metallic, nauseating smell that had filled the air as their attackers showed no mercy. It didn't know why, or even how, but it lived, and it was alone, and deserted. It had not idea what way home was really.
It wasn't even in the right biome, it was certain it was this way though, maybe, or not.
The endless fields of green were nice, but not on its own.
To make matter worse, it could smell a human nearby, they were easily distinguishable from all other beings in this world, as if not from here, even endermen had a smell that felt like it fitted in better, but not these creatures. It kept moving, it couldn't stop now, it mustn't, it'd be a death wish, but it's legs were tired, its back hurt, and most of all, it was hungry.
It had eaten the grass from the long plains, but nothing satiated it's endless hunger, or did they feel hungry from the loneliness? Who knew at this point.
It stumbled forward, letting out a long grunt as it's body hit the ground, the grass making the fall a little more bearable. It was dark when uncouncious, but it could still smell that damned metallic smell, and that human, why was it even here? There was nothing there for it to reap.
It sensed that it got closer, so it forced it's body back up, only to be face to face with one of the very creatures that ruined its life, yet, there it stood, it's arm outstretched with the best looking wheat it had ever seen, not even villagers could compare to this.It sniffed the food, after all the illagers had always taught them the smell of poison after both humans and villagers began messing with food supplies. Yet, to its surprise, it just smelled like wheat, nothing fishy, nothing abnormal, so, what'd it have to lose? It's not like it's rider was still alive.
It softly took the wheat, the food being a blessing to their weak body, and to it surprise, the pain in its back disappeared, it looked over, only seeing the human remove the metal saddle from its back, it didn't even resist, the height being gone felt too good. The human left after that, and the ravager, sensing no more danger, allowed it's eyes to rest, it's energy replenished and it's legs ready to go again, it sniffed the air, and there it was, the humans trail.
It'd follow, follow the scent, not matter where it went, water, forests, caves, it'd be there, and it did... ravagers are trained to follow their riders, after all.
I love how I started this fic while still finding my way in middle school and now I'm literally in college
