Evoker x reader part 2

You had followed the evoker to a room with a giant map. He gestured for you to sit.

When looking at the door you noticed about everyone from the mansion was there.

"You said your brother was coming."
You nodded.

"Yes, sir"

"Just say Ace, please."
You nodded.

"From where do you think he'll come, show it on the map, please."

You stood up and looked at it inspecting where your home was purely from the direction it came.

As you looked at the map you noticed it had marks on homes, villages, outposts and more buildings.

You noticed a tiny house presenting yours and pointed at it.

"We live here but my brother has tactics, he can come from anywhere."

He looked very intrigued

"We once send a patrol of 5 people there. Only one came back."

You looked down knowing exactly what he talked about. There had indeed been a patrol near you house.
You had talked with one of them for a while and later found your brother was picking out the others one by one.
You had managed to help him.

"I know" you answered very quietly.
Ace inspected you closely.

For some reason the testiface species was good with body language.
He gave you a headpat.

"We will guard the door well."
"What if he comes through a wall, or window?"
"We shall set up patrols around them, you will also stay here."
"Please do not use me as a human shield." At that sentence you heard snickering from the hallway and from Ace.

"I'll try." He said, giving you a hearted smile.

Ace let your illusioner buddy take you to a spare room. You had learned his name was Oliver.

"You'll be on the second floor."

"Mhm"

"There is a bedroom that has 2 floors. On the bottom floor is my bed and up the ladder is yours okay."

"Got it."

"(Y/N), wake up!"

Someone slapped you across the face

"It's me, Oliver"

"Huh?"

"Breakfast is ready."
You begrudgingly got up.

"Wait, don't you all eat together?"
"Yes."
"But-"
"It's fine, just don't piss of Evi, Johny, Johnny or Harley and you'll be fine."

"But who ARE they?"
"Oh god okay, Evi will be doing his nails while complaining to a pillager, Johny doesn't talk that much, Johnny will stare you down just don't approach him and Harley is a former royal guard, don't look at her chest and you'll be fine."

"Wha-"
You didn't finish your sentence as you where immediately pulled away and down the ladder.

You continue down the hallways and towards the dining hall.

"Bacon and eggs today"
"Who even cooks for a mansion this massive?"

He didn't reply.

"It'll be safest if you sit next to Ace."

Safest? Well that didn't sound good.

You finally arrived at the dining hall and Oliver practically made you plop down in the chair, he went to talk to some people.

You could feel the stare of Johnny onto you.
The man you saw singing the day before was singing again, it was something in a different language you didn't understand.

Looking around more you indeed saw an evoker doing his nails complaining about how magic ruined them with a pillager just nodding to whatever he said.

You felt someone tap your shoulder.

"Peek-a-boo" twas Ace.
"You seem, awfully cheery" you stated. He have a chuckle.

"I only just had coffee."

You ate breakfast talking to Ace about various things. Like cats, apparently illagers love cats.

"We should continue this conversation."

You nodded. As you both left you could still feel Johnny's glare. What was with that guy.

You and Ace agreed on walking around the walls of the mansion, no one really came there except the patrols around them.

After a while of walking you heard a noise, Ace noticed your discomfort.

"If you want we can take a look"
"Yes please"

You hoped it was a bunny.

"(Y/N)?"
Your eyes widen in fear. Your brother. Ace noticed and got in a defensive stance.

"You left me for those, degenerates?"
Ace frowned at his words.

"You know what I don't care" he prepared his bow aiming for Ace, suddenly everything around you felt like slow-motion.

You jumped in front of your friend and took an arrow to your shoulder.

Your brother shocked at your actions stopped focusing on Ace.

Ace saw this as and opportunity and used his fangs to break his bow. The noise alerted a nearby patrol and your brother was cornered.

"Screw this" he ran of, you knowing your brother knew he wasn't coming back.

He acted high and mighty but freaked out the moment it didn't go as planed.

If he had gotten inside things would have been bad but he probably never planned to get surrounded outside.
Or have his bow broken.

Ace carefully grabbed you and brought you inside. He brought you to his bedroom and put you on the bed.

He took care of your wounds.

"That was a risky move out there."

"I know"

He gave you a kiss a your forehead.

"Don't ever do that again."

After the shot
You didn't have trouble with any other travellers, the word of you spread like wildfire.
You have a scar on your shoulder.
You have been able to talk to some people at breakfast. With Ace looking at them intensely.
Evi started doing his nail rant to you instead of the pillager. Sadly.
You and Ace enjoy playing card games and he shows you magic sometimes.
He always wins the card games.
