Saving the South Island!

The fight!

That sounded like the Eggman... Surely, he was just kidding about this right? Right? A light flicked on over top of Knuckles who was pinned to the ground and had his arms cuffed behind his back, the big robot holding him down had to be a few tons of metal but yet he still smiled. Another light flicked on over top of Breezie whose mouth was being covered by two rather goofy looking robots, a fat little teal robot with a pointed nose and one that resembled a chicken. I pulled myself to my feet and stared at the man before me.
"What's the meaning of this! You said I was getting set up by the Echidna but... You tricked me? How dare you! Coward! Get me out of here now!"
He grinned. The smile sent a chill down my spine. He had something evil up his sleeve and I was going to be to blame. He turned the machine back on and had forced me into running again, my body was giving out quick, I slipped and bashed my face off the metal wheel but that wasn't stopping me. Each time it was started, the speed maxed out and then immediately shut off. The sinister laugh every time I bashed my face off the metal and got back up covered in blood.

"Give up yet little hedgehog? All your running has helped bring more power to the Emerald and is helping conquer more of those little villages of disgusting creatures, killing your own kind and now killing others? How terrible! Plus, you brought back my robot AND worst enemy! You've played perfectly into my hands blue rat! Ohohohohohoho~! When you go down, I'll make sure your little boyfriend watches before I kill him too."
Eggman paraded around the room with a huge smile on his face, he had won, I was defeated along with all my ancestors, got more innocent lives killed and was about to have this hero of the world along with a sympathetic robot killed off too... I have failed. I closed my eyes and dreamt that I had succeeded, and everyone got to live, it was a peaceful mindset to have in my final moments that was until I started hearing a voice. I had to keep pushing, I had to just focus on the emerald, I had to let it give me the power I needed to win. My body started getting hot, the cuffs melting off my hands and an intense glow engulfed me, I stopped the wheel with one hand and escorted myself out by breaking the metal. I moved close to Knuckles and touched the cuffs before I touched his hands giving him a shared power of what appeared to be a hyper form, with a grin he shoved the robot aside and quickly destroyed it. Now it was me, him and Eggman. We had many to save in the towns nearby but what was the plan? I could take the emerald now and help those below and- While wrapped in thought Knuckles pulled me closer.

"HA! Your gloating got you nowhere Egg head! Now you gotta deal with us both! C- Soni? Hey... We got this. Look at us! Look at you! A beautiful gold in a shimmer white dress, I mean, you are very attractive, but this takes it to a whole new level! Don't get to beat up okay~? Take that emerald and get out of here, take out what you can in those towns, I'll take care of Egg-"
Soni was quick to shut me up. She seemed pretty mad at me for some reason, probably due to Eggman lying to her.
"Go barking up someone else's tree! Don't try to get with me Echidna! Especially don't try to tell me what to do! I've been through so much trust and mistrust, emotional stress and physical damage! I'll do what I think is right. Starting with you. Go. I have a personal situation to deal with here."
Oh, damn dude! That commanding presence... She was totally into me. I smiled and listened to her demand, I left to take out and stop the robot factories then go save the towns that were affected by the attacks, I hoped she was going to be okay.

I destroyed multiple factories, setting them ablaze with the sheer energy I blasted through them, then I took to the towns and found that only those close enough to his base were affected by the robot assault. After everything I felt the power weakening which meant one of two things, I was either too far from the power source or something happened to Soni. With everything stopped here I shot off towards the fortress only to find it blowing up and Soni flying out with a giant emerald on in her hand, she looked frantic, when I approached her to find out what was wrong, she immediately took off towards the exploding mess.
"Breezie? No no no... She said she escaped... I gotta go find her!"
Soni may had been fast on land, but I was faster in the sky, I grabbed her ankle and tossed her back, signaling that I was going to look for her instead as I approached the building it fully blew up and sent me backwards. There wasn't a chance that a robot could have survived that. I returned to Soni and apologized, she was heartbroken but tried to ignore it by heading back towards South Island. When we arrived more of it had sank, there was only the little bit of the biggest shrine left, she landed a bit before the shrine and staggered through the water towards it. She was flashing in and out of her super form, she needed help, but I know she wouldn't take it from me. 

I had taken up a fight with Eggman. He tried everything to stop me, but I was a woman on a mission and had too many setbacks, I blasted through the walls, set Breezie free and promised I'd give her a new home away from here. I pummeled Eggman into the ground, he escaped somehow but he was without a power source or a base of operations so, I continued to destroy the building until I found the Emerald, when I grabbed it out it set off a timer. He was going to kill all of us if we faltered. 
Leaving the building I saw Knuckles heading back towards me which made me happy he was still alive and still able to retain his super form, I noticed Breezie wasn't with him, I panicked and attempted to head back but Knuckles quickly stopped me and attempted himself. He did not come back victorious, disheartened I took off back towards South Island. It was mostly gone. I dropped down on the path leading to the emerald but the energy I had was dwindling fast, I was seeing gold and blue flashes as I stumbled towards the shrine, the water consuming me as I approached. I set the Emerald in its rightful place an passed out, I was fully drained. I could feel the water cover my head and body go completely limp. My island was restored, and I could die the proper death, I knew Knuckles wouldn't ever let anything happen to it.

"Wha- Sooooooonnnniiiii!!!"
