Said I wouldn't fall, but stumbled once more,
Picking up fragments of my shattered heart once again.
In the depths of darkness, I fell and cried,
Telling the world of the pain I couldn't hide.

I tried to release you, the one who broke me.
Telling myself it was time to let go, start brand new.
Months passed as I mended the scars that you caused,
Yet here I stand, screaming to the stars, feeling lost.

I long to be free, to release the hold you have on me
But why do I still cling to memories that shouldn't mean a thing?

Questions swirl within my troubled mind,
Why can't I move on, leave the pain behind?
Wishing that you would release the hold you have on me But For now,
I can't let go.
