Hiding My Heart (Until You Found It)

Liam got back up to his feet, his neck still slightly sore from Brett's grip. As he stood the others came running in, relief flooding them as they saw Liam alive and okay, they all began making their way over to him. Liam smiled at them all softly, about to make his way towards them as well.

Brett gave him an apologetic look, Liam just nodded in return knowing that's the best he was going to get from Brett, and continued towards the others.

That's when everything began to go hazy for Liam, he made no sound as it happened, no sign of pain at first. Theo and Hayden noticed something wrong before the others, Brett and Lori stood frozen as they were the only ones who could see the pathologist's arm stretched around the wall, his hand plunged through Liam's back, through the skin, bones and flesh, until it was holding his heart.

Liam's lips parted slightly, he looked down towards his chest slowly, he could feel it about to happen. The hand plunged all the way through him, his heart still in its grasp.

Theo's mind went blank, he was dreaming, he was dreaming. He had to be dreaming, no, no this was not happening it wasn't. It was Tracy's scream that broke him out of the trance he seemed to be in as the pathologist pulled Liam's heart back through his body causing the beta to fall to the floor from the impact.

He wasn't dead. He couldn't be dead. Mason had never moved so quick in his whole life, he fell to floor next to his best friend, pulling his head into his lap. "No, no, no, come on. Please, please." Mason repeated those words over and over again as if they would bring Liam back. Hayden knelt next to him, staring at Liam's arm, as it lay there limply, tears flooded down her face, she couldn't stop them.

"Liam, I swear to god you better not die on me!" Mason's voice cracked as he spoke.

Corey, Nolan, Alec, Tracy and Josh all stood there in complete shock, Brett holding onto Lori as she cried into his chest. Corey fought off the shock, he had too, his boyfriend needed him, and so did his best friend who was still standing just staring at Liam's body.

Theo's eyes stayed focused on Liam, he wanted to look away, he needed to, but this moment would live in his head forever, seeing the person he loved get killed. Seeing the person who saved him die, and he died at the hands of the same people who had tortured Theo for years.

Apart of Theo always knew he would destroy Liam, but he never predicted it to be like this.

Finally he took one more glanced at Liam before pulling his eyes away, he looked up at the pathologist who held the beta's heart in his hand still, blood dripping onto the floor. As Theo looked at him a whole new rage overwhelmed him, he felt feral, like he wanted to tear apart everything in his sight.

The rage he felt made his brain go blank, he doesn't actually remember doing it, but he did. The dread doctors were finally dead, and Theo killed them. Years of abuse, manipulation and torture, but then killing Liam was the worst of all that.

Theo would've lived a thousand lifetimes of the abuse he endured rather than live without Liam.

Life doesn't work like that however, life doesn't give you what you want.

He stared at the three of them on the floor, he'd told Liam once "People only feel one emotion at a time" but he was wrong, right now Theo felt so many emotions it was truly overwhelming.

Anger, Sadness, Relief, Fear.

He felt them all, maybe feeling more than one of these things at once means he is finally human, finally an actual person, but knowing he was finally human without Liam by his side was overbearing.

Behind him no one had really moved from the positions they were already in, Brett and Lori had called the sheriff, and Alec called Melissa, Corey was now next to Mason on the floor his hand placed over his boyfriends who was holding onto Liam's hand, Tracy was stood behind Hayden allowing her to lean back on her for support.

Josh had absolutely no idea what to do, he felt useless right now. Nolan stood behind Theo, he wasn't sure how long he had been there but he finally spoke, "Theo-" Nolan tried to think of what to say but he couldn't, he had no idea what he could say.

Theo turned around to look at Nolan, a few months ago if something like this had happened he would push Nolan out of the way and leave town, but right now he just looked at him, then he held onto to him, hugging him in a way he'd never been able to before, never needed too, because nothing he'd been through had ever hurt this much.

He didn't want to run, but he had too, right now it was the only thing he knew how to do. He pulled away from the hug and glanced at Liam one more time, then he just continued walking, he had to get out, so he did the only thing, besides Liam, that had ever helped him feel safe.

The forest was the most peaceful place he could think to go. Theo removed his clothes and set them aside on the crushed up leaves that covered the ground, he forced himself to focused his mind and he shifted.

In wolf form he was able to hide, he was able to curl in on himself without feeling small. It was the only way he could cope with anything right now.

A/N : I've had this drafted for months and I wasn't going to posted it but i also didn't want to just leave this fic unfinished so I'm gonna post this for now, I was planning on writing another chapter after this to end it but I'm not sure if I still will.
