MAESTER AEMON had fallen ill, requiring his absence from the meeting Jon had convened in the dining hall. The twins took it upon themselves to look after him while Sam attended the gathering."You must have some water, Maester Aemon," Jasmine whispered gently as she settled into a chair beside his bed, Isabelle occupying the opposite side.
With trembling hands, the old man reached for the cup as Jasmine aided him in taking a sip. Her heart raced when he suddenly grasped her face with his frail, cold hands.
"Dragon blood flows within you," he murmured, catching her by surprise.
"It's little Rhae." The old maester's clouded eyes seemed to focus on her as he continued in a faint, raspy voice, "You share blood with the dragons, child. The last Targaryens may be gone, but their lineage lives on in you."
Isabelle, who had been listening attentively, was equally surprised. She exchanged a puzzled glance with her sister, unsure of what to make of these revelations.
Leaving the Maester to rest, they entered the dining hall to find chaos. People were scattered everywhere.
Janos argued, "I was charged with the defence of King's Landing when you were soiling your swaddling clothes. Keep your ruin."
"Alright, alright!" Sam's voice cut through the hubbub of the men. "Enough of that."
"You mistake me, my Lord," Jon retorted. "That was a command, not an offer. Pack your arms and armour, say your farewells, and ride for Greyguard."
The twins, still near the door, observed the turmoil with wide eyes.
Janos leapt up from his seat. "I will not go meekly off to freeze and die! Give it to one of the fools who cast a stone for you. I will not have it. Do you hear me, boy? I will not have it!"
"Are you refusing to obey my order?" Jon confronted him, as the gaze of the twins and the men fell upon Janos.
"You can stick your order up your bastard arse."
Jasmine exchanged glances with Isabelle, silently urging her to leave before things took a darker turn. However, Isabelle refused to budge.
"Take Lord Janos outside," Jon commanded a few men. "Olly, bring me my sword."
Isabelle eventually made her way out, followed by Jasmine and some of the men.
"You cannot do this! Get your hands off me!" Janos protested as he was dragged away. "Scum, all of you! If the boy thinks he can frighten me, he's mistaken, yes, very mistaken."
A chopping block was placed, and the twins braced themselves for what was about to transpire as they observed Jon walk out.
"A disgrace! I have friends, important friends in the capital! You'll see!"
