It hit me before she even said anything.

Old friend.

"Yeah, so I met up with Leo and he brought me to a fucking strip club," She massaged her temples and swallowed the glass of water I gave her. "I got raped by him and his fucking friends there."

"No." My hands flew to my mouth.

"Yes," Ruby answered truthfully. "Seems like my bath's ready. I'll go take it and tell you the rest of what happened. My clean clothes are just a few blocks away. Please?"

"Anything," I quickly pulled on a spare pair of shoes as Ollie followed. "Ollie, stay here at the front door to make sure everything's okay. Go out as soon as the ten minute mark passes."

"But-" His face fell. "-fine. J-just stay safe for me, won't you?" He slipped his hand behind my neck and pressed his lips against mine. I ran my fingers through his hair. "I love you."

"I love you too, I'll be back soon," I touched his cheek. It wasn't cold outside. I walked fast steps towards the old house I used to live in, and took the spare keys she'd given me and twisted it in the keyhole. The door swung open easily and I walked in as I took a whiff.

It smelt like it was just cleaned up. I walked up towards her room, and considering the fact it was actually her house now, that Mum and Dad weren't here anymore. I pushed open what was once my old bedroom and took her clothes from the closet.

I also grabbed a few important things that she might needed, and quickly hurried back to Ollie's house.

"I was getting worried," He pretended to check his watch.

"It wasn't even five minutes, Ollie, stop being so protective and worried," I sighed and brought in the clothes. "I also got a few more important shits that she might need."

"Great, I think the water just stopped, I heard," He stepped aside and let me in. I took my shoes off and stomped upstairs loudly, just to see the shower steam pouring out of the toilet like a smooth stream. "Ruby, your clothes."

"Nice," She called out while getting the pile of clothes from my hands. "Thanks!"

"No problem!" I stayed outside and she came out, turning the lights off while I walked her down the stairs. I sat her down at the sofa, and she swallowed the cup of warm water I poured her. "So can you tell me what happened, or?"

"Well, sure, I just need some time to calm down," She closed her eyes and leant against the sofa. "I can't believe this. Leo and I were actual best friends when we were in the youth academy. We met during one of the boys versus girls matches. He just seemed so nice and-" Ruby breathed hard. "Sorry, I kinda liked him at a young age. He left halfway through. I didn't know back then, but he had kissed one of the girls and was banned."

"He got a new name?" I suggested as she shrugged gently.

"I don't know, but-"

"Hey, sorry, can I talk to you for a moment?" Ollie whispered in my ear and placed his hands on my shoulders. I nodded gently and shot a questioned look towards Ruby, who nodded quietly. "Come on." He dragged me upstairs and closed the bedroom door.

"What's happening?" I grasped his hand. "Ollie? I'm worried."

"Please don't be," He pulled me into a hug. "There's something I need to say."

"What?" I frowned.

"I called the police, they said they'd be here in a few minutes just before I wanted to talk to you," He gritted his teeth. I went silent. "I'm sorry if she didn't want to."

"I-it was the right thing to do," I confessed. "I'll tell her."

"Good, because," We both heard a knock at the door. "They're here."

"Technically, two weeks-"

"Two weeks?" Sadie's eyes widened. "Look. You said a week just a minute ago."

"I just got word that your sister-" The nurse pointed towards the room, in which Ruby was resting in. I wrapped an arm around Sadie's shoulder for comfort. "-is involved in quite an intense case."

"I know, she's fucking raped and you just said she might be pregnant and it'll ruin her football career that she dreamt of since she was little," I held her back as she exploded. "It is intense."

"So we have to keep her, run tests and make sure that she is safe and the father doesn't get any closer to her," She looked down. She was probably a young girl who just got her place as a nurse in the hospital. She looked quite young.

"He's not a very good father then," Sadie stomped off in a manner.

"I'm sorry for this, she's quite protective of people, be glad she didn't punch you," I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair.

"It's fine, my first day and going through this shit, I'll be okay," She smiled. "I'd better tell my girlfriend this. Hopefully she doesn't come and sue your girlfriend. I'm Nova."

"I'm Ollie," I shook her hand. "Hard times?"

"True, some of the hospital staff don't like the fact I'm lesbian," Nova sighed again. "I'm only eighteen, shouldn't be going through this. I'll go care for Ruby now."

I got back to Sadie who looked pretty worried. "Please tell me you apologised for my behaviour."

"I did, you'll be fine," I wrapped an arm around her. "So we have to wait?"

The doctors had said we weren't to go in until Ruby had woken up, done a pregnancy test and was completely fine. That would take at least hours. She nodded gently. I could tell she was still upset about what happened. Sweat dripped down the side of her face.

"I'm going to listen to some music, you?" She connected her headphones to her phone as I nodded, Sadie sharing the music with me. "Do you ever stop listening to One Direction?"

A smile appeared on her lips. "Never. Just so you know, they're my first priority apart from my family."

I pretended to be mad and pursed my lips. "I'll just propose to you earlier then."

She giggled and struggled to get in the space between my legs, but managed.
