Timeline: a few months after Beidou fought haishan. Her old crew (before she was captain of the crux) banned her from sailing with them since they believed she lured them to Haishan. She has her vision though, she just covers it with her ragged clothing.

It was a cold, early morning in Liyue, a young woman around the age of sixteen was wandering around. She wad dirty and had a few wounds. She ended up wandering her way into Bubu pharmacy. Seeing a doctor around the age of 21.

"Hello, welcome to Bubu pharmacy. I'm doctor Baizhu and these teo are Changsheng and Qiqi." The man said.

"I don't need medical help. I was just looking for shelter. I can tell by the wind and clouds a storm is soon to befall us." The young woman said.

"Ah, that's quite alright too. But as I am a doctor I would ask if you could wash yourself off in the back room. I see a few small cuts on your arms, lets and face that I'd like to look at." Baizhu said softly as he pointed to a back room.

The girl nodded and did as asked. She ended up tripping over a small box full of herbs on her way out, and immediately panicked. Knowing the storm would soon arrive she had to decide to run and find a new form of shelter or risk a punishment.

Before the girl could decide, the Doctor smiled kindly and patted her head. "These need to be thrown out anyways, don't worry kid." He said as he knelt down to pick up 5 of the herbs that had scattered over the wooden floor.

The girl simply sat down in a corner beside the window. She saw the sea and it caused her eyes to widen, she was intrigued by the vast ocean and what is on the horizon that isn't seen from her location.

"I want to explore that sea someday.." the girl said softly.

The doctor heard those words and smiled. The storm hit a few minutes later like the girl had said it would. One of the people who worked alongside the doctor was astonished by the girl's vast knowledge at such a young age.

"Hey, what's your name? I don't wanna keep calling you kid or little girl" the doctor said softly.

"Beidou.." the girl whispered softly under her breath. But she was unheard.

"What?"

"My name is Beidou! I know! I'm fucking cursed!" The girl yelled, remembering what the village that had abandoned her said as they drove her out of the area.

"You're not cursed, and neither is your name a bad thing. Yes Beidou is a constellation, and yes the star in it known as the Alcor is an omen of death. But without death no life would come to be, things and people need to die in order for more of that thing of person to come into them world." Said the doctor as he sat beside the girl.

"Heh... no everyone sees it that way... I don't even see it that way." Beidou said as she stood slowly. The doctor stopped her and asked her to sit down while he tends to the small wounds on her arms and legs.

The girl did as asked and soon after the doctor finished caring for her injuries she groaned.

"You appear to be pretty thin, how long has it been since you've last eaten?" Baizhu asked Beidou.

"I dunno... a week I guess? I'm not too sure... I don't have the mora to buy anything, and people hit me for stealing, then when I ask they refuse." Beidou said as she leaned against the wall.

Baizhu then handed the girl an apple. "It isn't much but food it food, and the body needs food to function."

The girl took the apple and bit it, she enjoyed the sweetness of the apple but she felt unsatisfied, she was still hungry and yet her body was telling her to eat something spicy. She had no idea why she as suddenly craving a spicy food, maybe it's because of how overly sweet the apple was. Or maybe because she was just desiring a change. Either way she was still craving spicy food.

Beidou opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out. She was grateful to at least have one food item, but soon, enough a girl arrived, she was 11, she said her restaurant had made more than they needed and she was tasked with walking the food to the pharmacy as a thank you, for helping the community, but the young girl saw the young Beidou. And offered her some tofu.

Beidou was unsure what do respond with, yes Beidou was hungry but at the same time she didn't want to trouble anyone or owe anything to anyone, she didn't want to refuse the food and come off as rude though. So the girl sat silently. Pondering what to respond with.

The one girl just pushed the plate of tofu beside the girl with messy, brown hair, and smiled. "Don't worry! It's just some extra stuff we made back at wanmin restaurant. We normally just donate the extra food to the pharmacy or to people who need it. We refuse to waste some perfectly good food anyways!" The young girl said.

Beidou nodded and hesitantly took a bite of the tofu. "Wow this is good!" Beidou said after she swallowed the first bite.

The other girl introduced herself. "I'm Xiangling! I'm 11 and currently helping my father cook for his restaurant!" She said.

Beidou smiled. "I'm Beidou." The brunette responded.

"Okay Xiangling, time for you to go, it's going to rain in a little bit. I'm sure Beidou will be here after the storm anyways so you can visit afterwards!" Baizhu said, only looking out for the young chef's safety.

Xiangling left and Beidou fell asleep after she finished the tofu.

Baizhu carefully picked up the brunette girl and placed her in the bed of one of the two backrooms.

After being sure Beidou was perfectly fine Baizhu left and went to his room to sleep.

Early in the morning Beidou awoke and went outside to look at the sky. Like how she started every day.

As Beidou got up and ran over to a small floral spot, she crashed into a girl around the same age as her.

"Watch where you are going you bottom-feeder" said an adult who was beside the other 16 year old.

"stand down! It was a mere accident and I'm sure this girl means no harm. Take a moment to think before yelling at someone." The 16 year old offered a hand to help Beidou up.

"Thank you.." Beidou replied with a happy and enthusiastic smile.

The girl who helped Beidou up glared at the person who yelled at her. "Now, Apolize to the girl you stupid guard!"

The guard bowed and apologized to Beidou. His tone seeming pissed.

Beidou didn't mind the anger in his tone, she just smiled back and looked at the flowers.

"It seems you've taken interest in Glaze Lillies?" The kind girl asked as she went to pluck one from the patch of them.

The brunette nodded. "By the way, my name is Beidou. And Thanks again for helping me."

The kind girl smiled, her hair shining with the warm, morning sun. "Ningguang is my name. I'm pleased to make your acquaintance." The girl smiled as she placed the glaze lily in Beidou's brown hair.

Beidou smiled softly as her face turned ever so slightly pink. "Thank you.." she said as she thought of the girl in front of her.

"You seem to be new around here. Is that true Beidou?" Ningguang asked kindly as yawned, still waking up from getting out of bed an hour ago.

"I just wandered over in this area while I was looking for shelter from that storm last night. I ended up spending the night there." Beidou pointed to the pharmacy as the small white cloth over her left eye had turned pink.
