"Family" (Candehya) {Vampire Au} pt.2 of Bloodshed🌸💔

Dehya and Candace were anxiously waiting for Dehya's period to check if the luck is going to be on their side.

Sadly it didn't work, and Dehya's period came around like it always did. When this happened they knew it failed, they knew Dehya wasn't pregnant.

They tried again and again over the span of one year, but it failed. Dehya was about to give up on her hope of getting to have a kid. But they decided to adopt in the meantime.

Originally the human-vampire couple we're looking for a young child but when the vampire; Dehya saw this young boy around the age of 12 who had seemed to lose hope in finding some parents.

"Hello." Dehya sat beside the child and smiled softly.

The child didn't respond.

"Oh, darling, He's deaf, you'll need to tap his shoulder or give him a paper to get his attention." The caretaker of the orphanage said.

Dehya grabbed a notepad and wrote "Hello" on the paper, she held it out to the boy and he turned to look at her.

Candace was behind Dehya just making sure her lover was behaving. "Dehya?"

"Yes Candace?" Dehya responded to her human lover.

"If you want we can adopt him." Candace could sense the care Dehya already had for the 12 year old.

Dehya smiled, her eyes on the child. And the boy responded with sign language, asking if they were going to be friends.

Dehya luckily knew sign language due to doing jobs for deaf people a lot. She nodded and responded back;{yes, we are here to find a kid, would you like to come home with us?}

The boy nodded and hugged the women in front of him tightly.
Candace was at a blank, she didn't understand what the kid and her lover were saying, but she kind of understood based off the hugs.

"I can go get the paperwork and we can fill it put together, alright Dehya?" Candace said as she walked off to the office asking about the kid she and Dehya had found.

It took a good few hours but the paperwork was all done and the boy was now legally the child of Candace and Dehya.

And a week later Dehya noticed a change in her body, so just to be safe she took a pregnancy test. Negative, yet again. But the couple kept hope on the donor situation, and they cared for their 12 year old son to the best of their ability.

Dehya was the kid's go-to when he needed something as Dehya knew sign language and Candace didn't, but what only Dehya knew is she was saving up her own money to buy hearing aids for her adopted son.

On the boy's 13th birthday, Dehya took him to the doctor for the hearing aids to be sure they fit the boy correctly, but she didn't explain what they were until she could do it in front of Candace.

"Love! I'm home!" Dehya called for her wife as she carried the boy inside, he was asleep.

"Dehya, is everything okay?" Candace asked nervously.

"Indeed." Dehya smiled as she gently shook her son awake. She spoke with words and also used ASL to help the boy understand what she was saying to her wife.

"So, As a gift I've secretly been saving for, I got hearing aids for the kid, so now he can hear us, they are not on yet, but I'll get it working in a moment." Dehya smiled after explaining.

Dehya carefully and cautiously turned on the hearing aids and let Candace greet the child first.

"I'm Candace, and I hope you know I wasn't ignoring you, I don't know sign language, therefore I never understood what you were asking me." Candace said sweetly as she sat in front of the boy.
