Finn's POV

I watch as Alp then slithers between me and Quinn, laying down on his stomach, so, despite my better judgment I crawl up a couple feet next to him, looking at him as I still have questions I want answered.

"So.. how does Quinn see with all that hair over his eyes like that all the time?"

Alp glances over at him then glances back at Quinn looking at him a moment before back at me.

"Oh, he can just see through his hair just fine, but he keeps them covered due to past experiences and relationships, he just found them unpleasant and all that. Don't take it personally he's just a bit introverted is all."

"Ah! I see.. Well that's unfortunate. I've met really bad and mean people."

"Though he didn't really have choice at first to want to be around them, I was apart of this group that we used to hang out with. Quinn was emotionally hurt bad by em. One day they ditched him. Breaking his heart, I stayed with him though, I'm pretty much all he has close enough."

I pause for a moment looking down at the sand "That's pretty sad.. I've never really had people to be close to, besides my friend Samuel, but that doesn't sound like it's very fun at all.." I pick up a little bit of sand in my hand

"He had heart problems that he didn't tell me about after, hes definitely peculiar but just don't take it personally."

"Well.. is there any way I can help? Maybe? I think he's neat, and a pretty guy like that shouldn't feel so bad.." I pour the sand back to the warm sand bed below, looking at most falling out of my talons in thought of how I can help him, after all he did save my life..

"Pretty eh? You grow a liking for the gecko?"

I look over at Quinn and can feel my cheeks heat up a little "Yeah, more than pretty even.. He's like a shiny pearl. Not perfect, maybe even shaped a bit different than others but still a very beautiful pearl."

Alps ears perk and his eyes widen slighty "Oh- oh my- that's uhm. Not quite what I was expecting for a response or answer, but that was unexpectedly poetic." He glances back at Quinn to see if he heard that bit from Finn "I do wonder how he would react to hearing that point of view"

We both take a moment to look Quinn and he stays facing away staying still, it didn't seem like he did from my angle, it's hard to tell. Though his ears seem a little bit pink? Maybe he was getting too hot. After a moment I gasp at a thought to go get him something.

"Oh! Speaking of pretty things. I have to get something for him to compliment his spots and stuff, I need to give him something nice for saving me." I try to shimy back to the water to leave

"I don't think it's the best idea for you to swim when you are still not quite in the healthiest condition to swim any kind of long or even moderate distance, no longer than a 10 minute swim would be good for your health Finn.."

I let my ears fall back and give a shrill, heartbroken whine "but- but I need to- I Have to get him something! Or he won't know that I appreciate him and his kindness!"

Alp hesitates a moment before sighing and crossing his arms "You have 10 minutes tops."

I perk up, making a chittering noise of delight before attempting to struggle to shimmy back into the water "Uh.. Can you throw me back in real quick?"

Alp let's out long sigh before punching between his eyesfor a moment. "I wouldn't usually advise it? But I mean. I guess I can" He slithers closer and scoops me up and under his arms like a catfish, and slither into the water before throwing me in.

I head near a ledge in the water, I usually know spots like these tends to have pretty neat trinkets, so I hope he can find one good enough for the gecko on land, since my dwelling cave is too far to get too at the moment.. I look in the sand diving my hand into it before waving it gently in the water. Looking into my talons, shiny crystals all around it with a gold metal band. The Crystals vary in color in the sunlight, this would definitely be an amazing gift! Giving gems and shiny jewels make other water bound being happy why not try it on a land bound? I pull myself out of the water and shake off my pectoral fins before pushing and pulling myself forward to Alp.

"Look! Look what I'm gonna give him!" I hold up the ring with a small smile on myself and Alp chuckles a bit not saying much but he slithers to the side to let me pass easier

"You don't know what it means to give someone a ring like that do you?"

I look at him a bit confused, what is he talking about? "No? It's just a trinket. Why would it have a lot of significance" then I continue crawling to Quinn.

Quinn stands up and stretches, so I come up to him and pat his leg a couple times I'm eager to giving him his gift. Quinn turns to me and looks me in the eyes, this is the first time I've been able to see his eyes semi clearly. They are a pretty sliver dark yet bright, with small glints of other colors but they are beautiful.

I can feel myself smile big "Oh wow! Even your eyes are pretty! They remind me of some of the crystals on the trinket I have for you!" I hold up the hold bad and Quinns face flushes in a deep red looking down at me.

"Will you accept it?"
