Unlikely Lovers

Finn..?

I can feel myself smile big "Oh wow! Even your eyes are pretty! They remind me of some of the crystals on the trinket I have for you!" I hold up the hold bad and Quinns face flushes in a deep red looking down at me.

"Will you accept it?"

Quinn's POV

As I looks down at Finn I see him offering me an engagement ring?? My face heats up and my ears tlit down slightly before my body stiffens. Taking a step back I look away from him glancing for Alp to get me out of this situation. I glance back to Finn seeing his ears fall with a frown on his face, looking back at the ring then back up at me. I start to panic and start biting at my nails, Alp wasn't very suprised but he is quick to encourage me to give an actual response, Alp is smart when it comes to things like that.. So I looked back At Finn taking a deep breath

"You seem like a great guy- fish-? But uh... I don't want to marry or court you-.. I just met you and.." I start to trail off rubbing the back of my neck.

"huh?..Huh?? Oh!! No- nonono- you're very pretty, don't get me wrong; but it's far too soon to court you! I'm just trying to give you a shiny trinket as thanks for, you know, saving my life??" He looks down at the ring "You use something this plain and worthless to court one another??"

"Well- it's a worn down ring and it seems pretty old- so probably not anymore though it is quite pretty.." 
I stare at him and the ring feeling my own face soften and by back relax for the first time today and I let my tail's tip shake a little to show appreciation before giving him a small smile. I clasp my claws around his own before gently taking the ring into my hands. "Thank you"

Fins smile returns as Quinn takes the ring, absolutely jazzed that he excepted the trinket " it just seems trivial to me why you would enter a courtship with a trinket and not a mating scale. And your welcome! I did hope you would enjoy it"

"Mating scale.?" I tlit my head slighty and my hair follows over my face slighty

"Yeah! Do you not have those?" Finn then shimmies his position a bit so I can see his back. He then looks back and tap a claw against a small bundle of scales, they're much shinier and have a small sheen of shimmer to them compared to the scales surrounding them "These are my mating scales, we give the smaller ones to the individual or individuals we plan or want to court the larger ones are for when we deem our courting successful and officially make the other person or persons our mate"

"Oh I see, that's neat! and no I don't have them- but I can shed my skin though and my skin will be brighter and more healthy, I can't take them off individually"

Finn looks intrigued about that "that sounds pretty cool!"

I smile a bit and glance away, my eyes are slighty visible seeing the beach clearly its and its setting sun. Before I laugh and make a look at Alp that hasn't of ounce of innocence  "Alp probably could if he tired hard enough"

Alp grimaces as he looks over at me "No thank you. I would rather not spend my time trying to separate individual flakes of skin nor scale, thank you very much"

"I'll keep that in mind"

Alp just lifts a brow at me, with an unimpressed look on his face "and what's that supposed to mean, little man?"

"I- little man!?

"Yuuup. little. Man." Alp says with a small smirk

I spit to the side giving Finn the ring back so I don't drop before I  jump at the giant snake and start trying to bite him clinging to him screaming curses and insults back at him. Just playfully attacking him

From the corner of my eye, Finn just looks so confused on what's going on and slowly crawls over to where I was sitting earlier and Alp barks a laugh and grabs my hands, redirecting me to the side and moving his large tail to grab me

I manage to bite him flicking my own in response

Alp hisses at me and wraps his tail around my torso and body tight, not enough to break anything, but enough to definitely envoke the feeling of being squeezed, crushed even. "I'd recommend you let me go" He holds still not to jostle me around too much though

I growl back in response though after a second of reluctance I let go scowling under my breath "You dick..! That's cheating!" I left a decent mark though didn't break skin I grin proud of myself

Alp huffs a laugh and basically pins me to the ground and hovers over me with a certain look on his face. "Says you." He boops me on the nose "I was just teasing"

"Yeah yeah whatever, I'd probably be Finn's height if he..-" I looks over at him trying to justify myself "I don't know- both of ya's giant."

Finn looks over upon hearing his name mentioned. He had tipped the chair over backwards and wad laying atop it, trying to figure out how to sit in it "what about me?"

I giggle a bit at the way he's sitting. "Can you care the big snake off me? This fatfuck is gonna smoosh me-!" I joke at Finn

Finn tilts his head and looks confused "buddy, I can only really crawl around-" he taps his clawed fore fingers together, his ears pinning against his head as he just looks so apologetic "I don't think I'm functional enough to do that-"

As the sun sets on the three men the sky is now dark blues and purples against the near crashing waves with a blue luminescence crashing with the tides, they all have the time of their lives having fun and messing around. Quinn though, Quinn found something he didn't think he would find coming here, someone who was special just like him. A friend maybe.. I feel myself smile at the glowing waves almost thanking them for bringing me quite a treasure indeed.
