Killer's POV days later

I get around as part of my usual routine. I've discovered towns and cities deeper underwater and have spoken with many of the residents to learn more...anything that could be useful. I have taken out numerous ships that bear the flag of that crappy group, though have had no luck finding my friends on any of them. So I frequently return to the sanctuary, admiring it from the water. The thick lines of trees that gently wave their branches in the wind, the tall strong mountains wrapping their protective arms around the land, the way that the sun carefully weaves down through the trees, the peaceful comfort, all of it....All of it gives me a sense of something I miss...

After a few times of visiting, I noticed Nightmare has a pattern of coming out to the docks and setting a plate down by the edge. He often leaves afterward. I peek up to check the plate and keep finding it full of food. Why...? Is it poisoned? Stale? Why here? I'd poke it curiously, sniffing it, but then leave it there. Then one day I found a note left with it.

"Dear Killer,

If you're reading this, I am glad that you're okay...You're okay, right? Just know that I've missed you and I won't hurt you whatsoever. I apologize for Dream's actions. You don't have to come here if you don't feel comfortable or have other things to handle. I will leave these meals out for you so feel free to take it if you wish. I don't want to worry about your health at risk, even if it is starvation. It is not poisoned or bad, Sprout grew it himself. Please stay safe, Killer. I really care about you.

Sincerely,

Nightmare"

What? Did he see me come here? Does he know that I've nearly taken the bait? Wait! Has he been watching me? Could he be watching me?

I duck down underwater at the thought. Then peek out hesitantly, unable to see anyone hidden in the trees. I glance at the note to see something written at the bottom.

"P.S. No, I am not watching you. I just know you're very cautious. Enjoy the meal."

He....really cares...He really misses me? Why can't I remember?

My face burns as my soul beats a bit faster. I take the meal off of the plate, enjoying it. Then I think about it, seeing it unfair to just take it without returning anything. So I quickly hunt a fish down, put it on the plate, and grab the pen he left behind to write Thank you-Killer on the bottom of the paper.

This soon becomes routine for my visits to this sanctuary and I can see that it makes him happy whenever I leave something for him in return. Though he never sees me hidden away watching him for his reaction. I always listen, waiting for him and hoping that something clicks. Something that will explain why he is so familiar and just being near him warms my soul so much. But for now, I will remain at a distance.

I continue swimming today, searching for Horror and Blue at the very least. Just someone. I need to know that my brother is safe at least. I start to search areas along distant islands or lands, then I see a raft floating near one. I swim to the land, encouraged by my soul changing as if detecting a loved one or someone that he's familiar with nearby. I've learned to recognize some of the sensations that it does to give signals. I swim close along the shore and then see two figures on this empty island.  They seem to notice me as well, quickly coming over.

"Oh look, Horror! I think it's Killer! Hi, Killer!"Blue's cheery voice says from one stranger.

I blink twice in surprise since this figure looks NOTHING like Blue aside from the eyes. He isn't even a skeleton! He looks like a bunch of rags and parts stitched together with two bolts coming out of his head! He still smiles with bright blue eyes gazing at me.
