Going to work might've always been a massive pain in the ass, but I never thought it'd actually get me killed!
While riding the bus to get to work one day, I came across this fanfiction that seemed like the perfect way to pass the time. The story wa...
"Hmm...how curious. It appears that no matter what I do the future remains a clouded even with my limitless sight..."
As the wise old king opened his eyes slowly, he found himself utterly alone within his massive throne room. The hour was quite late now, and despite the almost absurd amount of people who resided within it's walls, the castle held this almost eerily silence.

But rather this stillness unnerving however, the old king with his long white beard found it to be rather pleasant. His many, many wives have all been pestering him non-stop lately, so these days it was exceedingly rare for him to have a moment to himself.
And decided to take full advantage of this rare opportunity, the old king stood up and walked towards the private balcony that was normally hidden behind his ornate throne.
While the castle offered many magnificent views of his kingdom, this particular balcony had always been king's favorite place to contemplate things. Not only did allowed him to overlook his entire kingdom, but it also reminded him of all the people whose lives he was responsible for.
So stroking his beard absentmindedly, the king closed his eyes once more and cast his gaze far beyond the limits of what mortal men could physically see. In his mind's eye the king saw that in land that would one day been known as the United States of America, three Gods of War had begun their bloody contest!
Despite Amun-Ra's advanced age, the patriarch of Egyptian pantheon was doing quite well in holding off both Thor and Ares; and the old king watched as Thor called down a bolt of thunder with such immense power that it created a grand canyon upon the land's surface!
Looking elsewhere, the king saw that in the land of the rising sun, Vritra had challenged the Aztec God Quetzalcoatl to a trial by combat, while in South America the Goddess of the Wilderness Skadi was hunting Ishtar's Bull of the Heavens!
No matter where the king looked, he only saw more fighting and more needless destruction. God killing God, and caught in the middle were the innocent people and mortal creatures.
"To think this all started with a few small lies from the Trickster God." the king sighed once more before heading back inside.
It was not all hopeless however for the king knew that in the end, (that no matter how many Gods may fall from the Heavens), humanity would endure and thrive in the end! The old king knew this for a fact because he had seen this bright future himself with the clairvoyance he had been blessed with!
With his powers nothing was hidden from him whether it lie in the past, present, or even future!
